Design is a means of communication, and as a designer, I constantly strive to effectively convey the vision in my mind to clients. While we use a combination of floor plans, finish samples, and furniture images, this approach can sometimes still feel disjointed to someone who can’t envision the whole package.
I have always believed that renderings are a powerful tool for communicating designs, but creating an accurate portrayal of a space can be time-consuming and costly for both the client and designer. Therefore, I am exploring alternative and more efficient methods to aid in illustrating designs. Although there is some hesitation towards new AI technologies, after conducting my own research and experimenting with different tools, I am beginning to realize their potential as a valuable resource in the conceptual stage of a design project.
As a test, I detailed a space to AI by defining its purpose, style, components, and finishes, and I was genuinely impressed by the result. Swipe right to see the selected pieces that influenced this depiction. Can you envision how this visualization could improve your grasp of a space?
