Todays mail is a very heartbreaking one! This uniform belonged to a fellow who happened to be born and raised here in south bend and only lived less than 10 minutes away from me! He was a radio operator on a B29 Superfortress that was en route to bomb a oil refinery in Japan when his bomber was shot down with all hands lost sadly! Truly honored to have been able to return home a local piece once more!

Todays mail! Beautiful British battledress which is named to Major Francis Palotti of the 7th Armored who was attached to the British 8th Army in Italy during ww2 and was also injured in northern Italy! Saw previous experience in ww1 and was a lawyer during the great depression where he later used those skills as he was elected Mayor of Trieste by the Allied military government in Italy at the end of the war! Truly amazing history in this one!
