My mother, Charsley Meek, was the heart of our family—always caring, self-sacrificing, and full of love, even while battling fibromyalgia and cancer for over a decade. Now, we’re facing the difficult task of giving her the farewell she truly deserves, but our insurance is being contested, and we may only get a small portion of what’s needed for her funeral expenses. 💔
Any support—whether through a donation or sharing this fundraiser—would mean the world to us as we honor her memory and celebrate the incredible person she was. Please consider helping us give her the goodbye she deserves.
Please like, comment, and share so more people can see and support. Feel free to reach out if you have questions or want to support in other ways. Thank you so much! 🌹
Charsley L. Meek, 62, of Niles bravely fought until her passing on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at The Orchards of Niles, with family by her side.
She was born in Memphis, TN on July 1, 1963, to the late James and Dorothy Moody. Surviving are her children, Stephany (Zachary Myers) Glass of Niles, Joseph McKenzie of South Bend, and Holley McKenzie of Buchanan, MI. Her grandchildren, Sophie, Seraphina, Scarlet, and Faith Carmody and siblings, Cindy and Mackie Moody also survive.
Charsley had a gift for making a house feel like home, always keeping it warm, welcoming, and fulled with love. She especially enjoyed cooking meals for family gatherings and found great joy in spoiling her grandchildren. The holidays were some of her favorite times of year, particularly Christmas, and she always looked forward to trips to the movie theatre to see the latest films. She also dearly loved her animals, Coo the dove, Lassie the border collie, and Diego the German shepherd, all of whom brought her comfort and companionship through the years.
She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
A time to visit with family and friends is planned for May 15, 2026, at Cruz Family Funeral Home from 11 -1pm, with a brief service at 1pm. Burial will follow at Silverbrook Cemetery, Niles. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to American Cancer Society. To light a virtual candle, share a story of Charsley’s life, or extend a message of comfort to her family, please visit the Guestbook.
