Ever wonder why your candle gets that black stuff around the rim after you light it?!? 🕯️
Don’t worry, I got you 😉
It usually comes down to a couple of things:
Wick size matters!
In my case, I double-wicked a candle for testing, but the jar was too small. It burned too hot and too fast — and that caused the soot around the rim. 🫙
You gotta trim that wick!
Not trimming your wick before each burn can lead to a smoky, uneven flame. A quick trim before and after each use helps your candle burn cleaner and last longer. ✂️
Moral of the story: Whether you’re making or buying candles, always test and trim your wicks for a cleaner, longer-lasting burn! ✨
But if you buy from Bossed Up Candles we do the testing for you and we also offer candle making classes so you can be the best at what you do!
