Ever wondered what actually happens between "yes, let's work together!" and "oh my gosh, it's perfect"?

Let us walk you through our design process so you know exactly what to expect.

We kick things off with the exploration phase where we dive deep into all your design dreams and ideas.

Then comes programming. This is where we set the game plan for each room and get super intentional about how you'll actually use your space.

In schematic design, we create floor plans, elevations, and lighting plans (aka the blueprint of your future favorite room).

Design development is where the magic really happens. We select all your materials, finishes, and fixtures.

Next up is final documentation, where we create a complete design binder for your contractor so nothing gets lost in translation.

During design management, we're on-site for key meetings to make sure everything's going according to plan.

And finally? Finished photography to capture your stunning new space!

Over the past 5 years of Alder and Stone I have had the pleasure of designing several cabins in north Idaho.

And there is always a through-line amongst all of the cabins I have designed.

The materials, the warm cabin feeling, and the layering of materials and fabrics in the space.

Give me all the rustic alder wood, gingham and plaid prints, boucle and warm earthy tones.

Around here, we don’t do builder basics.

What is builder basic? It looks like poor quality materials, no character and it feels sterile.
