Achieving this level of sharp has taken me years to accomplish. It’s not necessarily practical and I don’t usually sharpen my own knives to this extreme but it’s fun to nerd out from time to time.

As for many young boys in the South, it was my grandpa who gave me my first pocket knife when I was young and I’ve had a life long appreciation for the cutting edge ever since. Early on I learned from mishaps that a sharp knife is much safer than a dull knife, so I began the sharpening journey as a young boy. I love to cook and having a fine tuned edge is important for food prep. Knife collecting has also become somewhat of a hobby, mainly camping and outdoor knives, so learning to keep my good knives sharp has been an absolute priority. In so doing, I have cultivated a skill for straight edge knives over the course of my life and I am happy to offer what I have learned to my surrounding community.
