Another garden enclosure finished and all ready for spring planting! This one is a 24 ft long by 20 ft deep with 3 - 8 ft long center beds. The client lives in an area notorious for its hard packed clay soil and its deer population that eats the whole garden. My client is looking forward to not having to till that hard ground and getting to keep the harvest for them next year. I have 2 more builds to go for fall. Each one will be different and have its own unique features.

The fall build season is in full swing. I have 2 builds going on at the same time with more builds waiting. Fall is the best time to think about next years growing season. By getting ready and n the fall your soil has time to prepare before spring planting and you do not have to wait in line during gardening season to get your build done. All the builds I have setup for fall are all different sizes. It will be a good representation of different size options and features. This one was just started this week and will be a 20 ft by 24 ft enclosure with 3 center beds at 8 ft long each.

Custom 3ft Raised Garden Beds — Built to Order

Not every garden fits a standard-size raised bed, and this project is a good example of why custom builds matter.

These beds were built at a full 3 feet tall — taller than a typical raised bed — with a built-in floor at two different heights (24" and 18") to match exactly what the client needed for their space and planting setup. Each bed measures 3ft wide by 6ft long, handcrafted from solid Juniper wood.

If a standard raised bed doesn't quite fit what you're picturing — taller, shorter, a built-in floor, a specific footprint — that's exactly the kind of project I enjoy building. Message me with your idea and I'll help figure out what it'd take to make it real.

A Little Upgrade for My Own Front Yard

Not every project is for a client — sometimes it's fun to fix something at home too. My old address post had definitely seen better days, so I replaced it with one of my own Light Post Planters.

Filled with fall mums and topped with a solar lantern light that flickers with a real flame effect, it's already my favorite thing in the yard once the sun goes down.

Custom Radiator Cover — Century Home Project

One of the things I love about living in a town full of Century Homes is getting to work on pieces that respect their character instead of fighting it.

This radiator cover was built for a living room where the old cover was bulky and out of place. The goal: something elegant enough to belong in the room, without blocking the airflow the radiator actually needs to do its job.

Milled from solid poplar and finished in a clean white paint to match the home's trim, this one was built slat-by-slat for proper ventilation while keeping a refined, built-in look — not just a box hiding a radiator.

I had a a neat job this week. I was approached by a contractor building a home in the Hill neighborhood of St. Louis. The home is for a client who is looking for their forever home. The contractor brought bricks to me from the old home where the couple had lived with their children. The plan was to engrave each of the three children’s initials in bricks from the old home and those bricks will be used in a wall in the new home. What a cool idea. I was very happy to help make that happen.
