Recently the amazing folks at Valley Children's Advocacy Center reached out to local crocheters asking for crocheted turkey legs for their annual Turkey Trot. I appreciate the hard, necessary, and incredible work the advocates at Valley CAC (and other CACs) do every day. I wish I could have gotten more done but here are a few I managed to complete. I did some cute ones but my most special one was the overcooked turkey leg because this has been a challenging year for me. The overcooked turkey leg represents what it looks like when things don't work out they way you plan, and that's been my year. I'm a resilient person though, I've had a lot of practice.
Every day the advocates at Valley CAC help the people who walk through their doors develop resilience by making sure they know they're cared about, by connecting them with needed resources, by steering them in the right direction on their healing journey, and more.
