I am currently restoring an antique cherry drop leaf table, which is looking beautiful. To give it a personalized touch, I plan to paint the base in various shades of green, as the original finish is not to my liking and refinishing would be a very labor intensive task. I have recently completed my latest design piece, which was specifically created for the downstairs powder room. Originally, the piece was a sewing machine desk in the asymmetrical art deco style, featuring a very old and dingy finish. I disassembled all of its components, adjusted several panels to conceal the plumbing mechanisms while ensuring the doors and drawers remained fully functional, applied a heavy-duty sealer, and finally installed a vessel sink on top. Additionally, I updated all fixtures to black, finished the room in a deep teal hue that matches the adjoining entry hall, and updated the lighting. Going for a very rich and moody vibe here I think the mission was accomplished.
