There’s something about watching a garden bloom that feels a lot like watching a dream come to life. 🌸

You can plant the seed, but then comes the important part: you have to keep showing up.

You water it. Fertilize it. Protect it. Give it time. And trust that all that care will eventually turn into something beautiful.

Our goals and dreams aren’t much different.

That’s one of the things I love about the story behind Mandala Moon Candle Company .
What started as a dream between Wendy and her daughter Bridgett has blossomed into a beautiful family business—built with creativity, intention and so much love.

Their candles are carefully handmade with natural ingredients and thoughtfully paired with gemstones and chakra-inspired scents that smell absolutely incredible. Each candle burns for approximately 60 hours, and the gorgeous mandalas you see on the candles? Hand-drawn by Wendy’s daughter Bridgett. ✨

It’s a beautiful reminder that the things we nurture have a way of growing.

So whatever dream you’ve been quietly planting—keep watering it. Keep fertilizing it. Keep tending to it. Even when you can’t see much happening yet.

What Dolly taught us…

Dolly Parton showed generations of women that you can be feminine and powerful, successful and generous, glamorous and grounded—all while staying completely true to yourself.

Her music made us sing, but perhaps her greatest gift was reminding us to dream big and live life on our own terms.

This is us knew this day was coming. I just didn’t know how much it would hurt and fill my heart at the exact same time. ❤️

Dropping your baby off at college is one of the strangest emotional experiences of motherhood. In my latest blog post (link in bio) science based coping tips for parents in our shoes!

You spend 18 years preparing them to become independent—to be confident enough to leave you. And then… they do. 🥹 I have a kid in our house for 30 years straight! That’s all I know.

You’re proud because they’re ready.
Excited for everything ahead of them.
Terrified because you can’t protect them from everything anymore.
Heartbroken because home will never feel quite the same.
And somehow, incredibly grateful that you got to raise this person you love so much.

There’s the dorm room chaos, the last-minute Target runs, the boxes, the decorating, the reminders they’ve heard 100 times…

And then comes the hug.

The one where you try not to hold on too long because you know they need you to let go. ❤️

Then you get in the car and realize this goodbye isn’t really about college.

It’s about the end of one chapter of motherhood and the beginning of another.

Our babies may not need us in the same ways anymore—but we never stop being their moms.

So here’s to all the college parents driving home with an empty backseat, a lump in their throat, tears behind their sunglasses…and a heart absolutely bursting with pride. 🥹❤️

We did it. Now it’s their turn to fly.

And yes… I’m still crying.

The hardest shifts in life often hold the quietest magic. ✨
If you told me eighteen years ago—in the middle of sleepless nights, stacks of laundry, and chaotic sports schedules—that time would fly this fast, I’m not sure I would have believed you. But here we are. The boxes are packed, the room is quiet, and another nest is officially empty.
I’ll be honest: the process of letting go isn’t a single moment. It’s a million tiny choices to step back so they can step forward. It’s sitting with the stillness in a house that was full of energy for so long, feeling both a deep ache and a ridiculous amount of pride all at once.

People talk about “empty nesting” like it’s just a void. But I’m choosing to view it as a horizon.

We spent years building a foundation for them to fly, and now? It’s our turn to figure out what this next season looks like for us. More quiet mornings, spontaneous plans, rediscovered hobbies, and watching the incredible person we raised build a life of their own

To anyone else navigating this bittersweet chapter right now: take a breath. Cry the tears, honor the memories, and then look ahead. We built strong roots—now we get to watch them bloom from afar (and enjoy a much quieter house while we do it).

Here’s to the shift, the stillness, and whatever beautiful thing comes next. 🥂 child size to adult size, we did it.
