Somewhere along the way, I stopped chasing trends and started decorating with the things I genuinely love.
The last few years have brought some harder seasons, and our home became a bit of an escape for me. Decorating, rearranging, hunting for an old piece that someone else might walk right past — it gave me somewhere creative to put my energy when other parts of life felt a little heavier.
And I think it changed the way I decorate. I stopped worrying so much about what was “in” and started trusting what I loved. Old wood, worn finishes, pieces with history, things found for next to nothing that somehow become my favorites. A home collected slowly rather than decorated all at once.
I’ve realized there’s something really special about seeing beauty in things others may not — and creating a home that feels like you, rather than like everyone else’s.
So maybe this is a little reintroduction to Florence Dee. Less about following the rules, more about following what I love. 🤍
