While plein air painting by the river at Melton today, my distraction was a pair of oyster catchers. They have such a distinct call.
Walking back to my car, I came across a pair with tiny chick's in a front garden along way from the water.
What a treat to watch.
This is one i painted on a local oyster shell some time ago!
Nature is always my inspiration.

A Robin can make us smile even on a wet day or sad day.
I attended a family funeral yesterday which was full of smiles & laughter. A true celebration of a man's life who loved to laugh especially at himself.
Leaving the get together afterwards at a local pub, we spotted a Robin in the garden.
He was a man who loved his garden & visiting wildlife so this was a special moment.
Robins have that effect on us.
A special personal moment.
Which is why I paint these little wooden decorations to sell in order to raise funds for our local hospice
These will be available at my next event this Sunday, 24th May hospice open garden. 11.30 -4.30
Robins are also available 9n Etsy.

Busy Bluetits feeding their young this morning.
I am so lucky as I am working away in my art space while getting totally distracted by these busy new parents.
We have Bluetits nesting in a tiny hole in the top of our garage. It faces the woodlands which are at the bottom of our garden so they are constantly flying back & forwards for food.
I am in awe of how dedicated they are & the constant effort they put in.
This little piece is painted on silver birch bark & is available on Etsy.
