Dallas light is unforgiving.
It bleaches the soul out of a space if you let it.
A sterile white wall at noon doesn’t offer peace; it offers a headache.

At Haus of Sabo, we prefer the quiet strength of atmospheric neutrals.
Mineral tones. Raw plaster. Deep walnut.
Materials that absorb the heat and soften the spirit of a home.

We trade the "bright and airy" trend for something heavier. Something visceral.
A palette of clay and stone creates a home that feels like a legacy, not a photoshoot.

Texture before color.
Proportion before pattern.
Listening before drawing.

Your home should be the antidote to the world outside.
Let’s build your sanctuary.

The ex*****on trap begins when spatial authority is handed to someone whose professional training is rooted in logistics, not meaning.

Contractors are, by necessity, risk-averse. Their instinct is to simplify. The limewashed wall becomes flat paint because it’s faster. The recessed niche becomes drywall because it’s cleaner. The layered lighting plan collapses into a central fixture and a couple of cans because it’s efficient. One by one, the gestures that would have built emotional infrastructure get value-engineered into neutrality.

Cody Sabo explains the Design Gap: why homeowners in Dallas, Tyler, and East Texas should hire a residential interior designer before talking to contractors. Prevent aesthetic regret, budget overruns, and decision fatigue.

Thank you Sulphur Springs!

We received more than 200 inquiries from homeowners who were interested in having their yards redesigned by our student designer. The response truly exceeded all expectations, and we are so thankful for the enthusiasm and support from our community.

At this time, all yards have been selected. The student carefully chose the projects he felt he could realistically manage and give the time and attention they deserve. If you did not receive an email, please know how much we appreciate your interest and we are sincerely sorry we couldn’t accommodate everyone this round.

The good news? This will be an annual project. We plan to offer this opportunity again next spring, and there will absolutely be more chances to participate.

Thank you again for supporting local students, local design, and for trusting us with your homes. We can’t wait to share the transformations with you.

I really wanted this custom seated vanity to be about more than just a routine, it’s about creating a moment of intentional luxury in the everyday. We started with a handcrafted mosaic tile feature wall to layer in some texture and tonal movement, giving it that sophisticated, spa-inspired backdrop that feels both high-end and incredibly calm.

The custom millwork vanity is finished in rich, warm wood tones with tailored hardware, which really grounds the space with that timeless craftsmanship I'm always chasing. I integrated LED mirror lighting to get that precise, natural illumination just right, while making sure it reinforced the architectural symmetry of the whole design. We finished it with a honed stone countertop for an organic touch that balances durability with refined beauty. Every material was curated to make sure this space is a seamless blend of functionality and that elevated residential luxury we love at Haus of Sabo!

There’s a language in great design that speaks before a word is uttered, and it lives in texture. Texture isn’t decoration. It’s syntax. It’s how a space communicates tone, memory, and meaning long before anyone consciously notices.

In this piece, I break down why texture matters as much as proportion and light, and how thoughtful material choices anchor interiors with authenticity, coherence, and depth. From limestone that communicates permanence to reclaimed wood that carries history, every surface is a word in the story of your home. - Cody

There’s something about that East Texas light that just hits different.

We’re bringing that warmth indoors with materials that only get better with age: brass that patinas and stone that feels permanent. It’s that perfect balance of a solid, masculine foundation paired with the organic, softer touches that make a house actually feel like a home.

Timeless, grounded, and uniquely yours.

Now Booking Interior Remodels for 2026

We are now accepting a limited number of interior remodel projects for 2026. Our studio is seeking new clients who value thoughtful design, architectural integrity, and a highly collaborative process. As we move into the new year, we are intentionally focusing on full-scale interior remodels with construction budgets starting at $250,000 and above.

Our work is design-driven from the first conversation, rooted in proportion, materiality, and longevity rather than trends. Each project is approached with rigor, clarity, and a commitment to excellence at every phase, from concept development through ex*****on. This is an ideal fit for clients who are prepared to engage fully, make decisive choices, and invest in a refined, enduring result.

Inquiries for 2026 should reflect serious intent, aligned budgets, and an appreciation for elevated design and craftsmanship.
