From Sunbury to Grandview, Gahanna to Grove City — there are so many chances to come smell all the things, build a custom blend at the Wax Melt Bar, and stock up on your fall favorites🍁

HOT TAKE....Essential oil candles aren’t non-toxic.
There’s a LOT of marketing around candles that makes it sound like:

🌿 Essential oils = completely safe & non-toxic
🧪 Fragrance oils = scary chemicals

But…that’s not really how it works.

Essential oils are made up of chemical compounds too — because literally everything is chemicals. Water is a chemical. Oxygen is a chemical. You are chemicals. 😂 Look at you go chemical!

And when you put essential oils into a candle and heat/burn them, that doesn’t magically make them harmless. Combustion creates emissions, and some essential oils can contain compounds that may be irritating or produce other compounds when heated.

That doesn’t mean ESSENTIAL OILS ARE BAD.
And it doesn’t mean FRAGRANCE OILS ARE BAD.

It means “natural” ≠ automatically safer.

For me specifically, I’d rather focus on things that actually matter when making fragrance products — using oils intended for the application, following proper usage rates, testing products, choosing quality ingredients, and being transparent about what I’m using.

So if you ever see a candle marketed as:
✨ chemical-free
✨ toxin-free because it uses essential oils
✨ 100% non-toxic
…your friendly neighborhood fragrance maker would like to gently remind you that a candle is literally something we intentionally SET ON FIRE. These essential oils can also be harmful for pets! Especially when burned or diffused! Always check beforehand on what can be and cannot be exposed to animals!

Marketing words are fun.
Knowing what they actually mean is better.

Some less toxic/irritating option include:

⭐Phthalate Free Wax Melts
