We’re very here for the shift toward homes that feel lived in.
People are craving character again. Pieces with history. Art with a story. Things collected on a trip, inherited from family, found at an antique store, or simply kept because they mean something. Less filling a room with things because they match, and more filling it with things because they belong to you.
But there’s another side to the “lived-in” home that we love just as much: designing for the person you actually are.
Not the idealized version of yourself who always hangs up her coat, never leaves anything on the kitchen counter, and apparently has no charging cords.
If the coats always land by the front door, maybe you don’t need to try harder to use the hall closet. Maybe you need a great coat tree.
This is exactly why we start our projects with a programming phase. Before we’re talking fabrics and finishes, we’re getting to know you.
How do you move through your home? Where does clutter naturally collect? How do you entertain? What do you reach for every day? What drives you nuts?
But also: What do you love? Where have you traveled? What did the home you grew up in feel like? What pieces have followed you through different chapters of your life? What colors, places, memories, or traditions feel distinctly you?
Those answers matter just as much as the floor plan.
A beautiful image can give us incredible inspiration for a project. But our job isn’t to recreate a pretty picture.
It’s to take that inspiration, mix in your real life and your history, and create a home with personality, meaning—and, yes, a place for the coats.
