Currently checking my dahlias 47 times a day waiting for the first bloom. 🌸✨

Today brought my first-ever broccoli harvest, garlic scapes, lettuce, radishes, and fresh chives. Tiny harvests compared to what I dream about, but every season starts somewhere.

A few months ago these were just seeds and hopeful plans scribbled in a notebook. Now they’re headed straight from the garden to the kitchen, and honestly, that never stops feeling like magic.

What would you make with this harvest? 🥦✨

Nothing makes me feel like a garden girl more than walking outside for the first harvest of the season and immediately deciding to let’s pickle it 🤭🫜

These radishes are officially the first thing coming out of the garden this year… I forgot how satisfying that first pull from the soil is.

Quick SPICY 🌶️ pickled radishes coming right up:

• sliced radishes
• 1 cup white vinegar
• 1 cup water
• 2 tbsp sugar
• red pepper flakes (if desired)
• peppercorns
• tiny amount sea salt

Future me is going to be putting these on absolutely everything ✨ but the question is, what should I put them on first?

I’ve been on a bit of a baking hiatus these last few months, but I’m starting to miss having a fresh baked sweet treat within reach at all times. 🤍

Maybe it was the kitchen remodel, maybe it was the annual “new year reset,” or maybe I simply baked myself into exhaustion over the holidays because let’s be honest… holiday baking is A LOT 🤪

But I’m finally feeling inspired to dive back into recipes again, and I can already tell this summer is going to be filled with fresh bakes, garden flavors, and something sweet always on the counter. ☀️🍓🧁

Any recommendations of what I should try making next!?

Even though it’s still technically spring… planting my dahlia tubers officially marks the start of summer in my book 🌸☀️✨

Because nothing says summer like dirt under your nails, golden hour in the garden, armfuls of flowers, and becoming emotionally attached to plants you started as weird little magic potatoes 😭🤍

Are you growing dahlias this year or just here to watch me slowly turn my backyard into a feral flower farm? 🤭

POV: the most chaotic thing about my garden wasn’t the weeds… it was the fact that I’d finish watering and just throw my hose somewhere in the yard because I could not be bothered to coil it back up nicely on my own time 😭

Which meant:
• hose laying everywhere
• tripping hazard
• permanently ruining the cottage garden vibes
• and my two bernedoodles occasionally deciding it was a giant tug-of-war rope

My new Evolve Retractable Hose Reel from Hoselink USA honestly solved every single one of my problems here (and it’s SO worth the investment). It neatly retracts right back into place, keeps everything looking clean and aesthetic, and somehow made watering my garden feel way less chaotic ✨🌻🙌

It’s the little things that make the garden feel more magical.
