Maybe it was introducing your kids to the water.

Those moments are what inspire my designs.

This layered largemouth bass SVG was created for makers who love the outdoors and want to turn those memories into something they can build with their own hands.

It’s been a productive few days during our mini-July 4th break!

🎣 I finished the design for my largemouth bass SVG! After lots of tweaking and simplifying, I’m really happy with how it turned out and can’t wait to get it cut, finished and listed in my Etsy shop.

🦉 Meanwhile, my barred owl is officially cut and ready for sanding and some paint. This one has been quite the project, but seeing all the pieces come together is always my favorite part. I know those little pieces are going to drive me a little bonkers 😂 by it will be worth it in the end!

Sometimes it’s easy to only share finished projects, but I thought it’d be fun to share a little behind-the-scenes look at what’s been keeping me busy lately.

🎣 Finally finished!

After a lot of designing, sanding, painting, and way more pieces than I’d like to admit 😅, my mahi-mahi/bull dolphin fish is officially complete!

I wanted to capture that split-second when a mahi explodes out of the Gulf at sunrise, with the vibrant greens, electric blues, and golden yellows that make these fish so unforgettable.

This has definitely been one of my favorite designs to create, and I learned a lot throughout the process. I’m really excited with how it turned out!

The digital laser cut file is now available in my Etsy shop for anyone who’d like to make one of their own. 😊

Almost finished with the mahi/dolphin fish! Just need to glue and seal 😃 I’m really enjoying the fish and water pieces. The colors are just a lot of fun to work with 🎨

Another project down! 🦃❤️

After many hours of designing, cutting, sanding, painting, and plenty of second-guessing, my turkey is finally finished!

I wanted to create something that captured one of the nations most iconic game birds while keeping it true to my layered wooden inlay style. I’m really proud of how this one turned out, especially that colorful head!

And of course, I had the sweetest little helper insist on being the one to show it off. 🥹❤️ She may be tiny, but she’s already my biggest fan (and my favorite model).

Now it’s time to get this design listed in my Etsy shop and move on to finishing the mahi-mahi!

Making progress on my latest wildlife wood art/mosaic! 🦃

This Osceola (or Eastern 😉) turkey is finally starting to come to life. The painting is nearly finished, and next up is adding the final details, assembly, and finishing touches before it’s ready for photos.

One of my favorite parts of creating these pieces is watching a pile of individual cut pieces slowly transform into something recognizable. It’s still amazing to me how much depth and character starts appearing once the colors go on.

I’m hoping to have this one completed soon. What do you think so far?

This one feels a little special. 😊

For the past several weeks, I've been working on creating an original wood inlay art digital pattern from start to finish. Tonight, I finally completed the physical build and published the digital file!

This manta ray design started as a sketch on my iPad and slowly evolved into a laser-ready pattern. Along the way, there were plenty of edits, sanding, painting, color decisions, and moments where I questioned whether I should just start over. 😅

But tonight, I got to see it come together as a finished piece, and that's a pretty exciting feeling.

As a wildlife biologist, I've always loved wildlife, conservation, and the outdoors. My goal is to create artwork that reflects those passions while also being something other makers can build and enjoy themselves.

This is just the beginning, but it feels good to finally take a project all the way from idea → design → physical build → published product.

What species should I tackle next? 🐟🦉🦃🦌
