Excited to share that Hearth and Honey Homes has been nominated for ‘s Best of the City for the fifth year in a row! ✨

Being included alongside so many talented creatives and industry professionals whose work I’ve admired for years will never stop being weird in the best way.

One of the greatest gifts this career has given me has been the people. So many started as business acquaintances, became trusted resources, and over time turned into friends who feel like family.

In fact, they’re the very reason I launched the Tampa chapter of the Interior Design Society last October. I wanted to create a space where our local design community could connect, collaborate, learn from one another - and yes, occasionally swap job site stories over margaritas. 💃🍋‍🟩

This wet bar was basically begging for a personality injection, and we knew just what to prescribe. 💉➡️

What started as a builder-basic moment with one lonely wine cubby and a serious shortage of vacation vibes turned into an immersive destination for guests - no passport required. 🌴

With practically no demo (other than the wine cubby), we relied on creative solutions and layered details to completely shift the experience.

Resort-style stripes create a playful backdrop that instantly transports guests into vacay mode. We replaced the lone cubby with floating fluted shelves spanning the entire length of the jut-out wall, turning an awkward architectural feature into functional surfaces for styling and display. ✨

Bamboo paneling behind the sink defines the splash zone, while a vintage mirror layered over top reflects the coordinating chandelier. Finished with a custom tiki-inspired valance, this little tropical escape proves that not every transformation requires major construction.

Thank you for another shot at sharing our work and the stories behind it. 🫶🏼

This time, the conversation centered around the evolution of coastal interiors and how deeper, moodier palettes are finding their place in homes once dominated by lighter neutrals and predictable soft blues.

More and more, we’re seeing homeowners step beyond the expected - and we’re here for it. 💃

The real plot twist though: We completed this project a couple years ago, and it just recently went under contract to a new family.

When the opportunity for this article came about a couple months ago, the Wall Street Journal wanted to include the buyers’ perspective too, so my clients connected them. During the interview, the buyers shared that they wanted to bring us back to help with additional custom upgrades to the property. Now we have the opportunity to help another family bring their vision to life in the very same house, and the WSJ reporter is the one who fed us the lead!

Such a full-circle moment. 🤍 May the story continue!

Meet the Team ✨

The brainpower, creative passion, and organizational wizardry behind Hearth and Honey Homes.

Small team. Big energy. And even bigger opinions about the details of…literally everything. 😅

Our founder and principal designer, Margie, usually has 52 ideas before breakfast and is responsible for the creative direction, design concepts, brand partnerships - and at least 78% of the team’s side quests and distractions.

Kassidey is our quarterback…but she don’t play. She keeps projects moving, clients informed, contractors on their (very) best behavior, somehow always knows what Margie needs before Margie knows what Margie needs, and operates exclusively on iced coffee and intense checklists.

Deni lives happily in the weeds of the spreadsheets, making sure nothing gets overlooked and proving that attention to detail is, in fact, a personality trait.

Different strengths. Same commitment to elevated design and an exceptional client experience. 🤍

Many rooms feel unfinished not because they’re missing something, but because the bigger picture got lost in a series of piecemeal decisions.

Each one may be pretty on its own, but great design isn’t just about selecting pretty things.

It’s about understanding how those decisions relate to one another and how they collectively shape the experience of the space.

And sometimes, the most important role a design element plays is allowing something else to shine. ✨

The blue dream bedroom is officially underway at our newest vacation home project near Indian Rocks Beach 🩵

This primary retreat was designed to embody the calming effect of the ocean and the magical feeling it creates. 🌊

A *mostly* monochromatic palette was inspired by the many shades of blue we see in the water, depending on how the light shifts.

My favorite detail is the two fish above the bed, swimming in sync—a nod to love and unity…perfect for the primary 🫶🏼

Last week, we shared the front courtyard. Now, meet her sister - the side courtyard.

She too once sat sad, empty and unoccupied (swipe for the before 😯) - but around here, wasted square footage simply isn’t an option.

Now with shaded seating for both dining and lounging, new pavers that feel five-star under bare feet, and intentional open space for morning yoga - this sunny little escape is ready for livin’. ✨
