Fun Fact: I was classically trained for 13 years in over 6 different languages

And by that I mean yes - I was a choir kid

And for some reason I remember most of my language music but almost none of my English music
And also several pieces that were never even mine to perform

But sometimes this German folk song gets stuck in my head and the acoustics are good and I gotta do the thing

Could I have fu**ed up the pronunciation?
Yeah probably - it’s been since like 7th grade since I learned it
But did I have a good time?
Yes - and that’s what matters

There’s more where this came from I guess 🤷🏻‍♀️

I don’t say this enough — to myself, out loud, in a place where it counts — but I am so deeply grateful for where I stand today

Not just for what I have
For what it took to get here

Every hour I pushed through when I had nothing left
Every client who trusted me with their skin and their stories
Every challenge I didn’t think I was going to make it through
Every version of myself who showed up anyway — tired, doubting, scared — and chose to keep going because somewhere underneath all of it she knew this was worth it

She was right

This studio
These tools
This desk
This business
This life
None of it existed until I decided it would
And then I built it
Piece by piece, day by day, appointment by appointment, decision by decision

I am the artist I am today because I chose to be — again and again and again — even when I didn’t feel like one

And I am so grateful for her
For all of her
For every hard version of me that paved the road to Now

We can’t take Now for granted
It’s all we actually have
And right now — in this moment — things are good
And I wanted to stop long enough to feel that fully instead of rushing past it to the next thing

Even if it’s small
Even if it’s still in progress

People ask me why it’s called Don’t Forget to Live

Here’s the honest answer:
When I started doing these pieces, I would ask my clients one question at the end of our conversation -
If you could give one piece of advice to someone going through what you went through — or to your own child, so they could learn from your experience instead of having to live it themselves — what would it be?

The answers were always different
But underneath all of them was the same thing

Keep going
Feel it
Don’t let it take the rest of your life with it

Because that’s what hard experiences do when we don’t process them
They don’t just take the moment they happened in
They follow us
They sit in the background and quietly take pieces of what comes after — our joy, our presence, our connection to ourselves, our ability to just… live

A lot of people who come to me have been surviving their story for a long time
They made it through something incredibly hard
And somewhere in the making it through, they forgot to come back to themselves on the other side

They forgot to live

Not because they gave up
Because no one handed them a way back

That’s what this project is
A way back

The process helps you face what happened, understand what it gave you, and reconnect with who you are underneath it
The tattoo is the symbol you carry out of that process — a permanent reminder that you survived, that you chose to keep going, and that you are still here building something beautiful anyway

It’s not a tattoo about what broke you
It’s a tattoo about what you chose to do after

✨ Why Raven’s Nest Emporium exists ✨

I got asked a question this morning that I haven’t stopped sitting with since:
what are you actually building all of this for?

Not the business version of that question
The real one
What’s underneath it all
What’s actually at stake

I already knew the answer before I finished hearing the question
It’s Her
It’s always been Her

I spent the better part of my life trying to earn my way to a place where I could have my daughter — stable enough, whole enough, ready enough
Now she’s here, and the work hasn’t stopped
It’s just changed shape
Every hour in this studio, every piece I create, every risk I take on this business is still in service of the same thing: giving her a life built on more than survival

This place carries her name for a reason
Not as decoration — as architecture
Raven’s Nest Emporium is the home of the raven, and it exists so we can build whatever we need, whatever we want, entirely on our own terms

The raven follows me through nearly everything I make
Not because it’s aesthetic — though it is — but because it’s a reminder I need on repeat
Every time I get to put one on someone else’s skin, it’s proof of the thing I’m proudest of ever creating

This studio was never just where I tattoo
It’s how I’m reclaiming what I’m owed — a full, intentional, joyful life for the both of us
Passion leading instead of just getting by

Not every tattoo needs to be a DFTL experience
But some stories do

This is a 6-week 1:1 program I built for the clients who come to me carrying something — grief, recovery, an identity shift, a chapter that split their life into ‘before and after’
They usually don’t come with a fully-formed idea
They come with a feeling they haven’t found language for yet

Each week has a purpose: we open with your story, sit with what it actually cost you, find what it gave you in return, reconnect you to who you are on the other side of it, and build a design entirely out of your own symbolic language
The tattoo isn’t the point of this process — it’s the seal on it
The permanent mark of everything you processed and reclaimed to get there

This isn’t therapy, and it’s not a standard consultation either
It’s narrative coaching, informed by my training as a certified NTT (Neuro Transformational Therapy) Practitioner and Life Coach — built to help you move from “this happened to me” to “here’s who I became because of it.”
And it’s for people who have enough distance from their story to look at it, not people still in the middle of it
We talk through fit on a discovery call first - no pressure, just a conversation
