My sweet friend and colleague from Bayou Roots and Blooms surprised me the other day with a fresh bouquet from her flower field and some farm fresh eggs. 🌸🥚🤎

She told me the flowers would be perfect in one of my thrifted propagation vases, and she was absolutely right! Just look how pretty they are! 🌿

But the flowers came with a little bonus… my boys and I found a tiny stowaway hiding in one of the blooms! 😂 He has officially been named Fred and has found himself a new home. 😅🐛

Fresh flowers, farm eggs and a surprise visitor… just another day on the bayou! 🌿🤎

Had such a good thrifting day with my momma today! 🤎 Now it’s time to find homes for all the little treasures we brought back.

Some of these were today’s finds, and some came from Momma’s own collection, like that sweet little hummingbird. 🐦🌿

Here’s a little peek at me putting everything away and finding just the right spots for them around the cottage. Of course, I’m sure I’ll be rearranging everything again soon because that’s half the fun! 😂🤎

Had one of those “I’m not leaving without it” moments… this time at my dad’s house 😄 This sweet wooden shelf caught my eye, and I just knew it had to come home to the Cajun Cottage 🤎

I gave it a little refresh and started styling it with some thrifted treasures I already had on hand. It’s still a work in progress, but I’m loving how it’s coming together 🌿 you know I’ll keep swapping pieces in and out as I find more along the way.

🌿✨ Y’all know I love a good find… but truth be told, I don’t pick up furniture unless I’ve got a spot for it in my own home. 🤎

But whew… I came across some beautiful cottage-core pieces that I just had to share with y’all anyway. 🌿

🌿✨ Propagation Era Begins ✨🌿

Well… I’ve decided to try my hand at propagating plants 🌱 we’ll see how this goes 🤎

I’ve got some succulents, a little star jasmine, and a random vine my mama gave me. No idea what I’m doing yet, but I’m excited to learn and watch these little cuttings grow into something sweet for the cottage 🌿

And speaking of plants… my poor Louisiana Sweet Orange tree didn’t make it through the bayou blizzard of ‘25 (yes…it really did SNOW here in south LA! ❄️), but I’ve still got hope for her yet 🤎 I’m thinking this fall I might let some of these vines take over and turn her into a cozy little hangout for my bird friends 🌿🐦 IF I can get these babies to grow…..

I’ve been getting farm fresh eggs from her for a while now, and let me tell you… they are the best. And now she’s added the most beautiful flower field you ever did see 🌸

She’s got a little farm stand right on her property in Bayou L’Ourse where you can pick up fresh bouquets and eggs straight from the source. It’s as charming as it sounds and so worth the stop.

There’s just something special about supporting local, especially when it’s grown and gathered right here on the bayou 🤎
