Where did you get a goofy name like BUNKS-N-US?

Oooh, ouch!
OK, though, fair question.
I gotta say there are a lot goofier names out there than ours (Noom, Yahoo and Google come to mind…).

When we started business in 2005, our name was BUNKS-R-US. It kind of said what we did, but clearly was riding the shirt tails of someone else. Then a certain toy company in New Jersey felt threatened, I guess, and made us change the name. They were very nice about it, but very firm.

We poled our customers at the time to help with a new name. One lady said “when you get a bunk bed from them (us), their service is awesome. You get a great bunk bed and you get Tom and Linda too. You should call it “BUNKS-AND-US”. Well, the “and” was shortened to “N” and our new name was born.
BUNKS-N-US©. We played it safe and ran it past the toy folks in NJ and got their blessing.

As a post-script, they’ve filed for bankruptcy and we’re still in business.

Fortunately for us, in this pandemic world, face masks and social distancing are normal in a wood shop. Masks are worn to protect us from wood dust and most machine centers are far more than 6 feet apart. Stay safe - and buy bunk beds.
