Katrina Niswander Art & Design

Katrina Niswander Art & Design Katrina Niswander is an internationally exhibiting and collected fine artist.

Katrina Niswander is an internationally exhibiting and collected fine artist, interior designer, and life coach working out of her home studio in Toledo Ohio. She has a fascination with the feeling of home, what we choose to surround ourselves with and what we leave behind. In her fine art practice, she uses her vast collection of found photographs as inspiration. Fuzzy black and white snippets of

time transform through her intuitive practice of adding graphic color as she attempts to wrap head around the complexities of time, memory, nostalgia, and loss in a playful way. Her mixed media paintings are a collaboration between past and present that manufactures new memories for us to share.

How are your New Year’s resolutions going? I had high hopes but got super sick pretty quickly, and many of my ideas for how the month would look flew out the window. Paired with all the happenings in the news, January felt very… blah.
Now it’s February, and I’M STARTING OVER.
How about you?

**A little reflection on the new year (and a slideshow of some of my personal picks from works currently available in the studio sale on my website.)**

We’re always free to start over and give ourselves grace. If your resolutions tanked or your motivation waned - go easy on yourself. Life gives us endless opportunities to start over!

In our lives, we have seasons - metaphorically, there are a lot of winters. There are more Januarys than the ones that sit on our calendar. Sometimes, the world outside our door can make even the most potent personal springtime feel like winter.

But there are endless opportunities for a fresh start and chances to be gentle with ourselves and refocus. I’ve posted a little reflection on my website exploring the importance of tending to our inner gardens, finding balance in an overwhelming world, and embracing the small joys that help us fall in love with life every day.

You can find the reflection on my “That Artsy Auntie” blog on my website
