๐๐ฅ A Little Something Different from Rustic Coop โ Homemade FIRE C***R! ๐ฅ๐ฏ
Today I thought Iโd share something a little different with you all! Iโm usually posting about whatโs new in my Rustic Coop booth, but I also love spending time in my kitchen creating homemade goodies with fresh, natural ingredients.
With cold and flu season upon us, I decided to make a big batch of my Homemade Fire C***r!
Fire c***r is a traditional apple c***r vinegar infusion made with fresh roots, fruits, vegetables, herbs, and spices. Itโs bold, tangy, spicy, and definitely has a kick!
๐ฟ Rustic Coopโs Homemade Fire C***r Recipe
I used a large, 1-gallon mason jar.
Ingredients:
* 2 cups of local honey โ I used delicious local honey from Acres of Diamonds in Barkhamsted, CT!
* Fresh organic horseradish root
* Fresh organic ginger root
* Fresh organic turmeric root
* 2 large purple onions
* 1 whole bulb of fresh garlic
* 2 large organic beets
* 2 fresh lemons
* 3 fresh oranges
* 1 teaspoon whole black peppercorns
* ยฝ teaspoon whole cloves
* 3 cinnamon sticks
* Organic Braggโs raw, unfiltered apple c***r vinegar with the mother
๐ฅ A Little Extra Kick!
I personally love adding fresh rosemary, thyme, and a little cayenne pepper! This is simply how I make mine, so these additions are totally optional. Feel free to adjust the ingredients to your liking. That extra heat will definitely warm you right up, especially during cold and flu season!
๐ฏ Letโs Get Creating!
First and foremost, always start with a thoroughly cleaned and sanitized workspace, utensils, mason jars, and bottles! I personally give my jars and bottles a hot water bath before using them. Cleanliness is so important when preparing homemade goodies.
Wash all your fresh ingredients thoroughly. Chop your fruits, vegetables, and roots into smaller pieces.
I like to leave my garlic cloves whole, giving each one a gentle crush to release those wonderful natural oils and flavors.
Add everything to your clean mason jar, including your honey and spices. Fill with raw, unfiltered apple c***r vinegar until all ingredients are completely submerged, leaving a little room at the top.
A little tip: If using a metal lid, I place parchment paper between the jar and lid to help protect the metal from the vinegar. A nonreactive lid is another good option.
I allow my fire c***r to infuse for approximately six weeks, giving it a gentle shake every day or two. I keep my batch refrigerated during infusion for food safety.
Once finished, strain, transfer into clean glass bottles, and keep refrigerated.
๐ฅ Homemade Fire C***r โ Made with Love!
I personally enjoy a small serving in the morning.

These are simply some of the homemade creations I enjoy making in my own kitchen and sharing with family and friends.
My fire c***r and upcoming homemade vanilla are NOT products I sell through Rustic Coop. Theyโre personal creations I love making and gifting, and I thought you might enjoy trying them too!
With the holidays approaching, why not set aside a little time, get creative, and make something homemade?
