We’re nearing the completion of another summer of 4H and I’ve finished my piece for this year’s judging.

This bedside table is made of a beautiful cherry finished to highlight its natural beauty with a simple poly coat.

This project challenged me in so many ways because the act of building furniture reeeaaalllyyy requires precise measurements and attention to detail. Also, once built it was WAY too wide for my liking so we had to get creative on how we trimmed it down and reassembled.

I’m very proud of this piece. I found ability I didn’t know I had and couldn’t be happier with how it turned out.

Making a big delivery today to our neighbor. I’m thankful she’s used her business to support mine.

These boards highlight a little bit of everything: juice grooves, engraving, handles and the blend of purple heart and cherry that has become a favorite.

I’m excited to share that I my younger brother has been learning about laser engraving and I can now offer this as an addition to my boards!

It is important for me to note that some experts warn against cutting on engraved surfaces due to risk of bacteria being trapped in the ridges. Others state that so long as it is thoroughly cleaned and dried it is safe. It’s important to understand your own risk level is this is an option you’d be interested in choosing.
