Sometimes the Internet (and especially AI content)… lie *audience gasps*

So we have to make sure REAL people and putting these ideas to the test!

This is why you want to learn with a REAL person, not just “influencers” on the internet. And what’s more, home cooks don’t need to learn bakery sourdough techniques… they need home cook techniques!

Glad to say I can certify this internet rumor as 100% recommended! If you want to learn more from a REAL person who has tested the internet’s ideas and found easy ways for home cooks to make great sourdough, sign up for our next group class at Terra Cotta Nurseries below! I am totally a newbie at gardening. My limited history includes managing to somehow kill an *aloe* plant. But I am determined that this year is going to be different! I have started my first ever vegetable garden. And because privacy doesn't exist anymore, all my algorithms know I am trying to learn 🙃

So I suddenly find my feeds filled with AI slop claiming to be "gardening hacks"- the other day one was claiming I should fill my garden beds with TP rolls and plant a tulip in each one, and they *miraculously* turn out picture-perfect! Even as gardening-illiterate as I am, I KNOW that's wrong (and insanely expensive!)

You know what has been helpful in my learning gardening journey? People! Imagine that. I ask amazing people like Cheryl Silvestre Faison and Vicki Morrison who actually know how to grow plants and they have great advice.

So if you've ever thought about learning to bake sourdough, but have the *sneaking* suspicion that the AI slop being fed to you about it is wrong somehow, come learn with me! We'll be having a group class at Terra Cotta Nurseries this Friday, April 10th at 10am. 100% certified AI slop free. Let's touch grass- er, flour- together!

Spots are limited! Reserve below:

Friday, April 10th at 10:00am Learn to make your own incredible bread at home! We will practice each stage of making sourdough together and enjoy a delicious, hot loaf. You will take home a prepared loaf to bake in your own home the next day and a 100+ year old starter to build up your own mother, f...

My next workshop at Terra Cotta Nurseries is coming up next week, April 10th at 10:00am!

"But Michaela," you say, "sourdough sounds like fun, it looks so darn COMPLICATED to do!"

Friends- it doesn't have to be. As I have had *several* workshop attendees tell me: sourdough used to seem complicated, but when it's explained well and hands-on, it's fun and doable for even busy lives.

Think about it... people have been making sourdough for thousands of years. If you were a homestead mama with 7 kids, 12 chickens, a cat, a cow, a garden, all while keeping your husband's darn socks darned, would you be willing to add something crazy complex to your to-do list? Of course not. And bread doesn't have to be.

Come join me and I'll prove it to you!

My amazing husband Gordon Miller made me a website! Moving up in the world 😁 You can now book a workshop right through the website:

I started baking sourdough because I got tired of flipping over a bread bag at the grocery store and not being able to pronounce half the ingredients. How could this possibly be good for my family to eat? I wanted to make it at home — and do it better.

One of our attendees told me after class, "I've tried learning this stuff before, but you made it so much easier!" After...

After such a great response from our workshop on Saturday, Terra Cotta Nurseries and I knew we needed to get another on the books right away. Next up, Friday, April 10th at 10:00am! If working on Saturdays or busy weekend sports schedules have kept you from our Saturday morning workshops, this is especially for you 😁

Another wonderful group workshop at Terra Cotta Nurseries yesterday! Such a fun and collaborative atmosphere, thanks to Terra Cotta and the wonderful attendees we had. A few pictures from the workshop as well as the first pictures from a student who baked her first loaf at home this morning 🤤 despite what the number of conflicting opinions on the Internet would suggest, sourdough really CAN be that simple!

And a thank you to Broken Bean Coffee Roasters for providing us with a morning pick-me-up!
