American Wood Flags

American Wood Flags Handcrafted in Trussville, Alabama — created with care and a love for the craft. One American flag at a time. Every piece is cut, burned, and finished by hand.

American Wood Flags is a small shop in Trussville, Alabama where I hand-build wooden American flags one at a time. I started making flags simply because I enjoyed it — and people liked the way they turned out. No mass production. No shortcuts. If you’re looking for a custom wooden American flag for your home, office, or as a gift, I’d be honored to build one for you. 🇺🇸

Step 1: Cut the planks to length.
Step 2: Sand everything smooth.
Step 3: Torch the surface for texture.
Step 4: Stain the stripes.
Step 5: Stencil and spray-paint the stars.
Step 6: Seal it with poly.
Step 7: Assemble.

About 6-8 hours of work. Zero shortcuts.

This is why it takes 4 weeks. This is why it's worth it.

Before it's a flag, it's a pile of raw boards, a torch, and a quiet morning in the garage.

No machines stamping these out — just me, one board at a time. Honestly, this part is my favorite.

Father's Day is coming up — and a tie isn't going to cut it this year.

3-foot handcrafted American wood flag. Built by hand in Alabama. Dad hangs it in his office, his garage, his living room — and every single person who sees it asks where he got it.

Order soon so it lands in time. Link in bio.

Happy Flag Day, USA.

June 14th — the day we honor the flag that's stood for this country for nearly 250 years.

I build that flag out of wood, by hand, one plank at a time, in my garage here in Alabama. It never gets old. Every stripe, every star still means something to me.

Proud to do what I do. Proud to be an American.

Ever seen the side of one of these?

Every plank stacked. Every edge sanded smooth. The depth of this thing is something you don't notice in photos — but when you hold it, you feel it.

This isn't a thin print. This isn't canvas. This is solid wood. Built to last longer than a lifetime.

No two flags are alike.

And I mean that literally.

The wood grain on every plank is different. The way the torch chars the surface. The way the paint soaks into each ridge differently. You will never find another flag exactly like yours.

That's not a sales line. That's just what happens when a human builds something by hand.

I started building flags in my garage because I wanted one for my own wall.

Couldn't find anything that felt real. Everything I saw was mass-produced — thin, light, fake-looking.

So I built one myself. Then someone saw it and asked if I'd build them one. Then another person. Then another.

That's the whole story. Still building them one at a time, right here in Trussville.

This is my favorite moment in the whole build.

The paint is still wet. The stripes are just starting to come to life. The wood is soaking it in.

Right here is when a pile of lumber starts becoming a flag.

Every order gets this moment. Every flag earns it.

People ask me all the time — "how long does it take to build one?"

Honest answer: 4 weeks from the day you order.

That's not me dragging my feet. That's me doing it right. Every flag gets my full attention start to finish. I don't rush it.

If you need one by July 4th, now's the time to order. Link in bio.
