It all starts with a work of natural engineering: rainwater filters through limestone, dissolving minerals along the way. Upon finding underground fractures, calcium carbonate slowly precipitates, sealing the spaces layer by layer to form the famous calcareous onyx. This patient process creates unique characteristics:

▪️ Hidden geodes: In some fractures, hollows remain where the mineral grows freely, revealing perfect crystals inside.
▪️ Unrepeatable color bands: Small amounts of other chemical elements mix during formation, creating spectacular transitions of white, gray, yellow, orange, and green colors. No two pieces are alike!

💜 WHERE AMETHYST IS BORN: EXPEDITION TO TATATILA, VERACRUZ ✨

Join us on this incredible adventure to the mountains of northern Veracruz. Hit play on the video and venture with our Geological Engineer, Luis Haghenbeck, into the middle of a beautiful cloud forest to reach one of the most interesting amethyst mines in our country.

The path to reach these specimens is not easy at all, but the reward is completely worth it. During this tour we discover:

▪️ The tunnel: An underground tunnel 20 to 30 meters deep created for the extraction of the mineral.

⏳ THE FOSSIL THAT REVEALS TIME: INDEX FOSSILS ✨

A fossil can act as a time record to determine the relative age of the planet's rock layers, but its precise identification is fundamental. Not just any specimen automatically works as an "index fossil"; to be useful, the organism must have met very specific characteristics:
▪️ Easy identification: It must be accurately recognizable.
▪️ Global distribution: It must have had a sufficiently wide presence in different parts of the world.
▪️ Brief existence: It must have existed during a relatively limited geological time interval.

Join us in the eleventh part of our tour of the Mineralia Distribution Center, where we step inside one of our most unique workshops: the space dedicated to the preparation and mounting of insects and butterflies.

Before reaching a display case, each specimen goes through a careful process where precision, patience, and respect for its natural form are essential.

How is one of these pieces prepared?
▪️ Each specimen is carefully inspected and worked on individually to preserve its natural characteristics.
▪️ Pins and specialized tools are used to carefully position the wings, legs, and other elements while maintaining their original form.
▪️ The position and every small detail are adjusted by hand before the specimen is incorporated into frames, display cases, and other collectible pieces.
▪️ Because these are natural specimens, each one is different, making every finished piece virtually one of a kind.

🌿 More than transforming nature, this work is about preserving it, studying it, and presenting it from a new perspective through a careful and responsible process.

I bet you've never imagined everything that goes into a piece of jewelry. Join us in the tenth part of our tour of the Mineralia Distribution Center, where we show you the workshop where all the materials that make our jewelry line possible are gathered.

Although at first glance it might look like a warehouse, this space functions as the true heart of the process. This is where the stones, threads, clasps, and all the components that later end up becoming a single piece arrive.

How does the creation of our designs work?
▪️ Our designers create a proposal and, once approved, a process very similar to a recipe begins.
▪️ Each model requires specific quantities, exact measurements, and a defined combination of materials.
▪️ The most fascinating thing about working with minerals is that, even if the same design is followed, no piece ends up being exactly the same as another because the stones retain their unique nature.
