Yesterday was my daughter's 7th birthday. Besides it being her birthday, it also marks 7 years since I made the choice to change my life and get sober from opioid and benzo addiction. It took about 6 months until I kicked the habit, but when she was born I made the choice to change so I could be the father I always wanted to be. She may be too young to understand, but she is the real hero that saved my life. Forever grateful 🖤

Various adjustable rings made from my original acrylic paintings. I need to find my display pieces and light box to take my professional pics. My pictures never do justice though and my work always looks better in person. These aged very well. I have about 15 available for purchase. These have always sold well at shows before the pandemic happened. With the upcoming holiday season these would make great stocking stuffers. Doing some cleaning and going through some of my stock, I found this. I forgot all about this. It's when a peer reviewed medical journal asked to use one of my smaller paintings as a cover for their journal last year. I had to clean it up a bit. They paid me and sent me a copy of the journal. They also credited me on the inside.

Hey ya'll! Been a while. Wanted to post an update. Life for me got busy but improved so much as well. Along with working on my degree I left my job at the high school and started working in my field as a behavioral health technician at a level one psychiatric hospital. The job is pretty intense and helping stabilize people in crisis can be very challenging, but also rewarding as well. However, just over a month in I got injured doing a restraint on two patients fighting and tore my ACL. I got surgery September 2nd and am well into recovering. I still won't be able to return to my position for about 6 months or so.

So about a year ago I was working on an LLC and gathering ideas for an inspirational clothing/product line based on recovery and mental health. Things got busy and stuff got postponed. Now with being off work with the ACL injury, I have a lot of free time to fill.

I'm going to jump back where I left off. This page will get repackaged as well with a focus not just on art but products like t-shirts, hoodies, tumblers, stickers, buttons, mugs, socks etc etc. Oh, my own hand made one-of-a-kind art jewelry and original paintings as well. Some of the paintings will be made into socks, mugs, stickers and various things as well. I have so much down time and keep wondering how to fill it. Well, here I am. I have a busy week ahead with designs and pricing. Need to get a good quality logo as well. Part of all sales will help the homeless and others that struggle with mental health and addiction as well.

Stay tuned for inspirational memes, posts and updates on the progress I make. My store will be revamped as well with a big makeover ahead once product is available. Remember, we do recover and Expressive Recovery is all about taking the negative and making something beautiful out of it. I have found artistic expression is a pathway to emotional freedom.
