The spirit of the Mother Road comes alive in Sapulpa as the community invites visitors to Proceed to the Route, a vibrant afternoon celebrating the history, culture, and creativity of Route 66. Taking place on May 30 from 11:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., this family-friendly event will feature live music, local art, interactive activities, and special museum highlights that showcase the rich heritage of the area.
Event highlights include live music including performances by the Main Street Ramblers from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., as well as a performance by Travis Kidd from 2-4 p.m. There will also be a kids zone for all ages, 6x6 on Route 66 Art Show featuring local and regional artists, auto museum update spotlighting developments and exhibits, and a historical museum Route 66 exhibit exploring the legacy of the iconic highway.
Proceed to the Route is held in conjunction with Tulsa’s Capital Cruise at Expo Square, taking place Thursday, May 28, and Friday, May 29. During the cruise, attendees can visit the Sapulpa booth to receive a special car tag. Participants are encouraged to bring their car tag to the Sapulpa event on May 30, where they can exchange it for a limited-edition Challenge Coin inspired by the community’s historic Route 66 heritage.
This unique partnership connects visitors from Tulsa to Sapulpa, creating a shared celebration of classic cars, local culture, and the enduring legacy of Route 66. Admission is free, and all are welcome to attend.
