i thought it might be fun to share a little more about the “me” behind this account.

my name is amber. i know - confusing since my account name is m***a lou designs! 🤪

m***a lou is the beautiful lady in pic 2! she was my nana, and played a pretty big role in my upbringing along side my mom. my nana had the best green thumb, was serious about manners, and could surprise you with her sass! she’s who the account is named after, but i’ll get to that in a second.

i’m a dog-mom to two crazy pups - who are really seniors these days! you’ve got mail and pride & prejudice are my go-to movies. i’ll listen to george strait any day! a couple of colleagues have turned me into a baby-birder and i’m tracking my back-yard birds regularly!

i’ve always had my hand in some form of crafting and/or creating. i started this account right after my nana passed away (hence the name). it started as a hand-lettering space, then i added some watercolor (thanks to the pandemic), and it has been a creative space ever since.

i really started embracing my love for vintage since moving back to Oklahoma and i’ve slowly found my way into my own vintage booth (the hive antique mall). the joy of sourcing treasures, curating a space, and bringing some beauty & whimsy in the way of thing with old stories - who knew it could be this fun. and this little account felt like a continuation of creating!

i had to ask someone at the estate sale what it was, but i was so drawn to the hollywood regency / pink & gold vibe.

💌 packaging postcards 💌

some of the cards in this stack are more than 100 years old! isn’t that amazing to think about?

and one of these has the most beautiful handwriting, more like calligraphy, sharing a message to a family member.

and don’t get me started on the gorgeous embossing many of these vintage, dare i say antique, postcards have on display!

so much history in these little cards! 🤎 coming to the booth tomorrow (friday)!

i freshened up the fridge art thanks to some inspo from a photo i saw somewhere on these squares (i wish i could remember where?). it took longer for the glue to dry than creating this little cutie!

mini gold frame + strawberry art from a book + magnet super glued to the frame. and voila … another hint of strawberry in the kitchen decor!

does this feel true for you?

i love finding gifts that feel personal and unique enough that i know the recipient won’t receive the same gift from another person.

i will always prioritize if someone has asked for something specific. :) gift giving really is about the other person, after all.

and, if i have the opportunity to be creative in my gift giving, and treasure hunt for an item that feels meaningful i will definitely lean that way! to me, that makes gifts even more special! 🎁
