UPDATE: Sold - This beauty found it’s new home 🤎

Some pieces feel like they’ve already lived a hundred stories. 🤎

This old chippy farmhouse cabinet has us imagining a place in Grandma’s kitchen, shelves lined with jars of homemade jam and preserves tucked away for winter. Or maybe it stood quietly in a bedroom, holding hand-stitched quilts that carried the stories of generations past and little dresses and work shirts passed from sibling to sibling.

Perhaps its doors once kept family heirlooms safe, the kind brought out while everyone gathered around the fireplace and someone began with, “I remember when…”

Worn paint, timeworn wood, and all the beautiful imperfections that can’t be recreated. This is the kind of piece we love most at Grit & Grace Homestead. Not perfect. Not new. Just full of character, history, and room for the next chapter. 🤎

Saturday Pickin’ with my Momma 🤎🍂

There’s just something about taking the back roads, stopping wherever catches our eye, and finding old pieces that still have plenty of story left in them.

Today was filled with some pretty incredible finds, the kindest people, lots of new ideas, and even more excitement for fall at the Homestead. 🍁 But the quality time spent together might just be the best part of this little Grit & Grace adventure.

Some pieces simply ask for a softer touch. 🤍

We gave this vintage curio a hand-applied whitewash at the Homestead, allowing all that beautiful aged wood and character to remain part of her story. Graceful lines, open shelving, and just enough weathered charm to feel as though she’s always belonged. Although she doesn’t have her glass front, she’s imperfectly perfect & rejuvenated with care🍁🍂

There is something romantic about imagining the rooms of another time—the glow of a fire against old wood, a desk scattered with papers, shelves heavy with well-loved books, and someone sitting quietly as words became stories.

Perhaps some of the most beautiful things began this way: in still rooms, beside flickering fireplaces, where history and imagination had the chance to meet.

That feeling became the inspiration behind our fall study and mantel at Grit & Grace Homestead. 🍂 A collection layered with worn books, time-touched treasures, warm autumn tones, and pieces that feel as though they carry a story of their own.

We love a home that doesn’t simply look collected, but feels collected—where the old is given another chapter and beauty doesn’t have to be perfect or new to be worthy of a place.

A little poetry. A little history. A little autumn.

Our fall study has settled in at The Porch & Co., Muskegon, MI., and she feels like a story waiting to be wandered into. 🍁📖
