Mother’s Day is coming up and I just wanted to share with you a little project the kiddos and myself made for their sweet mother. We made a small black walnut catch tray with a hand drawn message to her that I uploaded to my computer and then laser engraved to the surface of the walnut. How cool is that? These custom gifts are the thing I enjoy doing the most here at my shop. I hope all of you guys have planned something special for the moms/wives in your life and that all of you mothers have a wonderful Mother’s Day this coming weekend. When you have too may Legos and the old Lego container isn’t cutting it, you make a Lego table with a build area. This table spreads the Legos out and makes it easier for the kiddos to dig around and find those small pieces that would otherwise be lost in the bottom of a deep container. I think this was a neat idea and I’m thinking of including a design option to offer to the public for purchase. What do you think?

I have some more custom items coming soon to our Hook & Hardwoods collection. What do you guys think of these two additions that I’ve made? They are just simple prototypes at the moment. A simple fly fishing/hunting lanyard made with 1/2” thick braided paracord and repurposed wine corks and an open patch fly holder with sheepskin. Looking at adding customizable wood options to them too. What else should we look at making to add to our outdoor line?

Refurbishing the first table I made 8 years ago. I was a beginner and didn’t know exactly what I was doing. It’s now time to make it look like the way it was always meant to look like. I’m thinking a belt sander would work better.
