Wednesday 10/14, Devotional: What's Underneath

Scripture:
"The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart." 1 Samuel 16:7

The Heart of the Matter:
Everything we make starts with essential oils instead of something synthetic, because what's underneath matters more than what's on the surface. It's a small choice, but it's the same choice we're asked to make with ourselves: let what's real do the work, not what's easiest to fake.

Daily Application:
Pick one thing today where you've been managing appearances instead of tending what's real and tend it instead.

Quick Prayer:
Lord, I don't want to just look right. Shape what's underneath. Amen.

Something new is coming from Salty Mist Design Company! Our newest product line, balms, beard oil, and room sprays, follows the same tradition as everything else we make: real essential oils, never synthetic fragrance. We can't wait to share it with you starting October 31st at the Big Sandy Fall Heritage Festival and on our website. Stay tuned for more sneak peeks this week! 🌊

Monday 10/12, Devotional: A New Thing

Scripture: "See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?" Isaiah 43:19

The Heart of the Matter:
Something new is forming at Salty Mist, quietly, the way the tide works before anyone notices the shoreline has changed. God's new things rarely arrive with fanfare either. They spring up while we're still looking at what used to be.

Daily Application:
Notice one small thing that's shifting in your life right now, even if it's not finished yet, and name it out loud.

Quick Prayer:
Lord, give me eyes to see what You're forming before it's finished. Help me trust the springing up, not just the harvest. Amen.

No agenda today, just a question: what does your Saturday morning ritual look like? A slow cup of coffee, a good book, sitting somewhere quiet before the day gets going? We'd love to hear what grounds you this weekend. Drop a comment and let us know.

Friday 10/9, Devotional: Permission to Rest (same on both platforms) Scripture: "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.", Matthew 11:28

The Heart of the Matter: The deep sea doesn't rush. It holds its stillness no matter what's happening on the surface. As the week winds down, this is an invitation to do the same: let the noise of the week settle, and rest in something steadier than your to-do list.

Daily Application: Tonight, put the phone down an hour earlier than usual and just be still.

Quick Prayer: Lord, thank You for rest that isn't earned, just given. Help me receive it tonight. Amen.

This is where it all starts: raw ingredients, simple tools, and a lot of patience while each bar cures. Nothing rushed, nothing mass-produced. Just small batches made the slow way, the way we think good things should be made. Now, if only my studio looked like this. 😊

Wednesday 10/7, Devotional: Carried Together

Scripture: "Carry each other's burdens, and in this way, you will fulfill the law of Christ.", Galatians 6:2

The Heart of the Matter: Wood never grows sturdy on its own. It takes years of other things attaching, holding on, building something stronger together. By midweek, we're often tempted to go it alone, to push through quietly instead of asking for a hand. Today is a small reminder that we weren't built for solo endurance.

Daily Application: Reach out to someone today, not to vent, but to ask how they're really doing.

Quick Prayer: Father, soften my instinct to carry everything alone. Show me who needs me today, and who I need too. Amen.

Every bar we make starts with the same question: does this ingredient actually do something for your skin, or is it just filler? Natural clay to draw out impurities. Essential oils for real, lasting scent. No shortcuts, just raw ingredients working in harmony. Link in bio to see what's in your favorite bar.

Monday 10/5, Devotional: New Beginnings

Scripture: "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new is here!", 2 Corinthians 5:17

The Heart of the Matter: Every new week is its own kind of shoreline, washed clean by the tide overnight. Driftwood lets go of where it used to be, and sage clears the air for what's next. Monday doesn't have to carry last week's weight. It gets to start fresh.

Daily Application: Before you open your inbox, name one thing from last week you're ready to let go of.

Quick Prayer: Lord, thank You for new mornings and new mercy. Help me walk into this week light, clear, and ready. Amen.
