recrafters: ASSEMBLE!
We need your help. Don't panic, we're not asking for money.
1) We're partnering with for the annual fundraiser and sponsoring FREE pumpkin painting for those big beautiful cats. Did you know, pumpkin farms and patches around here don't actually grow their own pumpkins... weird. We need pumpkins of all sizes, shapes, and colors. If you are able, please donate a pumpkin during the week of October 19 – 23. You can drop off at Flourish, during any of our recraft events or during the day at our headquarter office.
2) You know we love you. And we know you love us. You know who doesn't know? Google! In an effort to extend our reach and our mission to the Tyler community-at-large, we are asking for Google reviews. If you've been to a class, workshop, free event, or met us at any partnered event- please, drop a review and let the people know about us. We'd love to hear from you as well. Google review link is in our bio!
3) Have we mentioned October is our birthday month? It is! And we believe everyone deserves to celebrate us with cake kits- so others can celebrate whatever they want with cake! We're putting together cake kits to be donated to food banks, closets, and other FREE food organizations. If you'd like to provide a cake kit or cake kit items, please see the list below. You can drop off any items at Flourish during our events or bring them by the headquarters office anytime. Kits will be delivered the first week of November.
Kit Items:
- 9x13 foil pan with lid
- Cake mix (Yellow, white, chocolate, funfetti, etc.)
- Container of matching icing
- 12oz can of soda (Sprite, 7-Up, Starry, etc.)
- Candles
- Optional extras: sprinkles, greeting card, ribbon, napkins, plates, forks.
4) Our partnership with Flourish is ending in January. With this, the space you have come to know and love as recraft, has to transition. During this time we will be utilizing the Tea Room for our BYOC & workshops. This decision was not made lightly by our board; it was weighed with intention to ensure continued safety and inclusion for all of our members. Please know, recraft remains unaffiliated with any religion or belief system. The Tea Room is a secular space with a separate entrance, no church signage, and no religious imagery or scripture in the space. This will remain- while a recraft home- an inclusive, safe, and nonjudgemental space for accessible, affordable, and sustainable art, craft, and community!
5) With #4 being said... we have outgrown all of our spaces and are in need of a retail space that can be a more permanent home for recraftTyler. If anyone has any leads on affordable spaces or commercial realtors, property managers, or individual landlords willing to work with a nonprofit for a thrift shop, makers space, and creative thirdspace- please put them in touch with us. We aren't asking for a handout- we are asking for communication and help.
From the bottom of our hearts and craft bags, thank you!
