Tonight was the "virtual" online finale for The Body Challenge at The Fitness Asylum in Hudson, MA! Out of the 54 people on my team I finished 2nd....and from the 260 people that started this challenge 12 weeks ago, I finished 6th overall !!! In the last 12 weeks I busted through a 10 month KETO stall and have learned that you can have carbs, and maybe too much fat, dairy and nuts can derail even the best KETO program! My strength gains in the gym have been amazing the last 12 weeks, simply from the additional weight loss and I am doing more than I have ever done before! I am no longer afraid to wear a tank top in the gym...but that is more a personal victory than anything. Lots of people want to know how I did this. Everyone wants the quick fix. THERE ISN'T ONE!! This has been 4 years of blood, sweat and tears....and finally making me a priority in my own life!! And I just finally wanted it bad enough !!! I realized a long time ago that the ONLY person that was going to take care of me was me.....and I finally did that! IT'S ABOUT TIME!!

Does anyone else feel really overwhelmed at the moment? By events beyond your control, anguish, tragedy, lack of kindness and civility and a general feeling that the entire world is unraveling? I do not think I am alone in this regard. I have decided that in the interest of my own equilibrium, I am media detoxing. No more news, radio, talking heads, social media of any kind. I have to stop it all for a while. I am going to concentrate on one thing and one thing only....my work. Which I love !! And reinforces creativity and face to face relationships. All good things! Also supportive and loving friends, family, my dog, the gym of course and staying healthy...and I am staying away from anything toxic. The things that cause chaos. I know that there is this incredibly vile and false notion that if you are not constantly posting you lose relevance in my business, but that is a narrative that is patently false. I will not buy into it. I know that this might seem like I am vulnerable, but it also means I AM HUMAN. And I know what is working for me and what is not. This is simply reality and it is my reality. Ask yourself this question....is there anyplace in your life where you just need to unplug for a while?? And if you did that would it help?

No more posts, no more stories. Concentrating on one thing and one thing only. My work which I love, my family, my friends, my dog, staying healthy and as far away from chaos as I possibly can. I know there is the false notion that if you are not constantly posting you lose relevance in my business, but right now I don't care. It's time to unplug for a while and get back to what truly matters.

She was gorgeous, she was talented, she was insanely smart, she had the best and longest legs I'd ever seen, she was kind, she was gentle, she looked like Snow White, she could sew and create anything and she could whistle just like the birds at the wishing well!!! She passed away exactly 3 weeks after graduated from high school in 2012. She was here for her graduation. The only trip she ever took to Massachusetts! I miss her every single day and I adored her!!!

Today is a very somber Saturday Salutes❗ has been a fixture in the Concord MA community for many years. This week, the venerable founder, Debra Stark, passed away. Her presence in our community will be deeply missed. I saw Debra in the Pilates class on a weekly basis and I have for many years. Her spirit, her community involvement, and her commitment to making us all strive for a healthier life are legendary. Her legacy will live on in this amazing store with the incredible people that will continue her mission. I have shopped here for years. From products to produce to staff, there is no equal anywhere! You will be so missed Debra.

Welcome to Saturday Salutes❗Have been so busy working that I have let my Saturday posts slide a little, but every once in a while, you can't let something go. About 10 years ago I was introduced to the Leonardo Da Vinci of the tile world....at least that is how I refer to Manny Dias. I met him through the incomparable work of www.capitalbuildinganddesign.com in Swansea, MA. If there is anything that I can dream up, David Eaton of Capital and Manny Dias will make it happen!! And they never tell me no!!! They always figure out how to make anything happen that my head dreams up!! And their work product is exquisite. I can't wait to post the final product in this beach house!!! I love working with these craftsmen and artists! And of course.... for the exquisite product!

It's Saturday Salutes❗ And today it's about friends, family, gratitude and love!!! You see ...today was my birthday and I have the most amazing friends in the world! Last night got a beautiful bouquet from .

I had planned a pretty quiet simple day with my daughters taking a yoga class at the Frida Kahlo immersive exhibit in Boston. went to the class taught by my amazing yogi daughter Melissa!

Went to brunch after... then my only other plan was a quiet dinner with a few friends!! They had other plans!!!They wanted to make sure that even though I live alone....I am truly NOT alone. I walked in on the grandest surprise EVER tonight orchestrated by the most amazing women and I am profoundly grateful for all the outpouring of love and friendship 💕💕💕💕.

The only thing that really matters in this life are the people....that you live with, love and care for deeply. And today was a powerful testament to family, friends and love. It's this that matters above all else. If you haven't told someone today how much they matter ...go do it right now❗❗❗

I stated a long time ago that I would never ever use my business Instagram for any kind of political purpose or statement. THIS is different. NO ONE can stay silent in the face of Putin's tyrannical and megalomaniac agression and his willingness to commit these atrocities against the innocent. Including the sacrificing of his own people in the process.

My industry is in a while lot of hurt. Do you know that for every 5 retirees in the trades that support the building industry..ONLY 2 are being replaced with new talent. That means in 10 years we will have an immense shortage of carpenters, plumbers, electricians and everybody else that supports the building industry. Some of the best people that I have ever known work in these trade industries and they are incredibly successful. And they are running out of apprentices and potential new hires. This is also a field demonstrably short of women who are very capable. One of the organizations that is trying to raise awareness and help people enter the trade field is www.mikeroweworks.org. There are scholarships and training programs and multiple resources for hundreds of trades. Please check out opportunities in fields that are so desperately needed.

I heard someone say once that Pittsburgh is an undiscovered jewel in America. I was there for the very first time this week. I have a client in CA that is moving "home" to Pittsburgh with her family and I had the chance to do a little exploring this week.

Pittsburgh is absolutely an architectural jewel!! Every neighborhood was filled with architectural eye candy! Home after home... brick, Bucks County Stone, front porches everywhere! I was in home envy in every neighborhood! Such warmth and charm❤️.

Everywhere we went the people were so kind and so friendly and every single neighborhood has an awesome bar where "everybody knows your name" and serves up incredible zucchini fry slabs! And the bar owner comes out to your table!

I am so glad that my client gets to move home and rekindle relationships with lifelong friends! Very rare in this day and climate! I'm so grateful that I get to be a part of this renovation! I can't wait to go back in the spring when all the leaves are on the trees!

Carnegie Mellon and University of Pittsburgh along with Chatham College and the Allegheny River ...just beautiful!
