Beginning a new portrait of Jameson — a Border Collie Doodle with the soul of a prince. ✨

As I prepare to paint him, I spend time learning not just his features, but who he truly is. His mom shared stories that immediately brought him to life in my mind:

Jameson is shy at first… until you throw a toy. Then you are his friend forever. He glides silently through the house and across the yard with remarkable grace, loving long morning walks, tennis balls, and the people closest to him with his whole heart.

Part Border Collie intelligence, part Poodle elegance — and entirely unforgettable.

I especially loved hearing about his agility days, weaving through poles like a champion, and the story of the day a bobcat injured him badly… yet he calmly pranced back into the house as though nothing had happened. Strong, stoic, sensitive, and deeply loving.

These are the moments and emotions I hold onto while painting. A portrait is never just about capturing a likeness — it is about honoring the spirit within.
