Three Sisters Broom Shoppe

Three Sisters Broom Shoppe My name is Jerilee Medearis. I handcraft brooms. All Three Sisters brooms are 100% functional and every broom is one of a kind.

I dye all my own broom corn in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, using as earth friendly dyes as I can find.

This is way different than my usual. I’m not even sure if it works but not sure either if it doesn’t. It’s kinda cool in a sort of ceremonial way.

18 strands of Bison hair are braided down the sides, 9 strands on each side. A knot is tied at the bottom of each braid then tucked into the broom on either side.

Sweet grass is on the front of the broom, 5 strands in each of 7 sections.

This broom’s name is Orenda meaning Magical Power.

I’m going to have to sit with this one.

Carrie Chalcraft of Feathered Familiars came over for a couple hours and we prepared for the in-person broom class happening on Saturday. This time people will pick whatever colors of broom corn, twine combinations and reed weavers. Now another bison hair and sweet grass broom is coming forth.

Input wanted:

I've shared a few times that I'm writing a broom book. I'm not doing a deep dive into the history as that is covered in many books and old publications. Some history will be covered in a way that is a bit different than what you've seen already, but the book is more about plaiting and dare I say it, MATH.

Now that guts have tightened up and groans have been heard, know this: I was pulled out of 8th grade math and never went further until I took algebra, apparently necessary to become an elementary teacher. I'd dreamed of being a teacher since 10th grade and went to the University of North Texas in Denton for just that vocation. Life had a totally different plan. I've never figured out WHY the dastardly Algebra was required. Anyway, lol, suffice to say I am NOT a math person whatsoever. Math knowledge is NOT required for what will be in the book. See, it'll all be figured out for ya by then. 🤣

BUT. I wonder what else you want to know besides how to make a crazy good pattern in your weaves. Are there subjects that you haven't seen covered out there in the world of broomage? Feel free to DM me, write me at [email protected] or drop a comment on this post. A few other subjects are already being included in the book, not mentioned as of yet.

I'd really like to hear from you.

Meet Gaia’s Dream. The Quartz Crystal has keys and the kiss of iron which also carries knowledge. Resonates to the number 7.

In numerology, the number 7 is the ultimate seeker of truth, representing wisdom, spiritual awakening, introspection, and deep analytical thought. Those with a strong 7 influence are typically independent, highly intuitive, and rely on quiet contemplation rather than surface-level answers to make sense of the world.

Key Characteristics & Symbolism

The Truth Seeker: 7s are natural investigators and philosophers. They do not take things at face value and crave a deeper understanding of life's mysteries.

Introspection: Individuals strongly influenced by 7 often need periods of isolation. They value alone time to recharge, process information, and connect with their inner voice.

Intuition vs. Emotion: They have a powerful gut feeling that guides them, though they can be somewhat analytical and rational when it comes to processing human emotions.

This one already resonates to the number Seven. It’s full of color, not necessarily ones that are normally mixed. This one’s wild straight out of the gate. 🤣

Meet Strength Unyielded. This broom was made for a specific reason and for a specific person.

Bison represents strength that will not yield and a trust that one’s needs are provided by the Universe. There’s much more to the spiritual aspect. These are the two that most vibrate within this broom.

Sweet grass is one of four sacred medicines. It stands alongside sage, cedar and to***co. Sweet grass calls in positive medicine and energy and attracts good spirits.

What do broom corn, sweet grass and buffalo hair have in common? They share intention, shadow work, support, determination and moving upward from the crevasses of life.

Brooms aren’t just for sweeping, but we know that. I usually make sweepers. Today I’m making one tool - this becoming broom - and finishing another. Let’s see what happens here.

Meet the OG Fiber Stacker! This is the one I saw several years back. You don’t need fancy tools. You need something that lasts the test of time. Hilary’s ingenuity has certainly done that.

We were giggling yesterday about my original Fiber Stacker... here it is- the OG! Old faithful 😂 As you can see, still used on the daily. Now why would I get black tampico dye on my fancy stackers??

If you love my little Altar Brooms, they're always available in the Shop as well as "fancier" Student Stackers ❤️🧹✨️

It’s a slow start to dye season this year.
