Been taking more adventures lately. Getting outside and soaking up the Vitamin D ☀️when it’s there. Decided to take a candle along for some shots.
If you want a relatively easy trail with a beautiful view, visit Backbone Rock 🪨next time you’re near Shady Valley. It can be a little slippery! 💦 Take those good shoes!

Cranking out candles and playing with my new containers 💗 There is something really therapeutic about watching the wax melt, mixing the oils and pouring these great candles.

It’s been a super busy week and only going to get busier over the next couple weeks with Holiday caterings at the day job, Delta Blues BBQ. Getting back into wrestling practice and taking care of all the holiday stuff too is stressful 😬 I’m also pumped to be working with TWO different people to establish my first wholesale accounts to local businesses! I am so excited and so, so tired but this is my happy place. 🥰 If you’re ordering in time for Christmas, 🎄get those orders in before next Friday. Gotta have it in the mail by December 17th!

What makes my candles different from what you'll find in big box stores? 🤔 Big box store candles are often mass produced and made from the cheapest waxes and fragrances available on the market. Many of these ingredients contain harmful chemicals and carcinogens that can contribute to a whole mess of health problems down the road. On top of that, many times you buy big box candles thinking they smell great but once you start burning them, realize the fragrance doesn't fill your space the way you want. Just because it smells good unlit doesn't always mean it will smell good while it's burning.

Each candle and wax melt is hand poured and cured in small batches to ensure you receive the best quality possible. My candles are triple scented compared to what you'll find with most mass produced candles. Marines have several nicknames. Jarhead, Devil Dog, Leatherneck. November 10th will see them celebrate their 247th birthday! ⚔️ When I think of Marines, my first thought is of Adam, one of my favorite people in the world.

Most of my favorite memories from my teenage years and early 20s include him. He taught me so much about life, history, faith, being a good human and a lot more. He was my shoulder to cry on and my advisor when I felt lost. We spent so much time watching Gladiator and The Office. He introduced me to music that I would have likely never discovered without him. He served 2 tours of duty in Afghanistan, Afghaniland as we called it, as a Forward Observer. He was a son, brother, friend, Marine, musician, historian. On May 27th 2017, the weight became too heavy and he laid it down.

This candle is blended in memory of him and all those who came before as well as all those who will come after. Leatherneck is everything I think of when I think back on those hazy memories from more than a decade ago and when I think of Marines today.
