My Dad always said, "do what you love and success will follow." Well, a couple of years ago, I decided to put those words to the test! I was in the financial/business world for a long time. I left to be a stay at home mom to my five amazing children. Other circumstances,coupled with the fact that the brood was getting older, precipitated the idea to start my own business and "work." Funny thing, t

his doesn't feel like work! It feels like passion (which, in this case, is another word for obsessive compulsive home decorating junkie)! So, another baby, Harris Marks Home, was born. Giving license to let my creative side reign has been an amazing and truly authentic experience for me. I used the word Home because my business does almost everything related to "home" not including repairs or exterminating :) - joking! Like all journey's, mine had different roads and turns along the way and not all of them were smooth (or even paved) but necessary: I started out by getting my real estate license (which I love and still do), this led to staging which led to design clients. Then Harris Marks Home opened a pavilion in an antique store and oh my! My life became blessedly focused on design... then, I could happily concentrate most of my time on painting furniture, flea marketing, tag saling, re-purposing, and giving new life to beautiful things. BTW, I believe there are no standards of beauty only the eyes through which it is seen. I do not care for cookie cutter decor and presto rooms that only require legs and a check book to get (walk in, point to, write check, have it delivered)! A house is only a home when it reflects the essence of the people who live there. To me, that is the epitome of a beautiful and well designed home. Thank you for taking the time to visit my shop.
