Love vintage industrial style? Take a peak here. Its a vintage military trunk transformed coffee table. Check out the caster wheels and the new leather handles! Trunk opens for storage. Look a little closer and you'll see the original red lettering on the sides and top. Trunk latches and the interior has been refinished. Measures 31" wide x 17" deep x 17" tall.

Painted a crisp, snow white and with new contemporary iron black hardware, this pair will go fantastic with nearly any style or color. The 2 smooth sliding drawers give space for ample storage. Sealed with quality polycrylic.

My husband and I realized we actually can tag team on a project from our experience working together on our kitchen. Usually one or the other of us has way too many opinions and tends to take over. I wanted a two tone kitchen. We have splashes of java black throughout our home. The kitchen island ended up bringing a lot of the splashes together. I chose contemporary brushed nickel hardware to tie in our stainless steal appliances and kitchen sink. I used General Finishes Java Black gel stain + their Satin Arm-R-Seal to finish it off. I love these 2 products.

We began this project during an extended quarantine, both kids got covid but neither my husband or myself did. Uffda. That was long. It took over 1 month to complete, but the results have been so worth it. We added new, more contemporary, clean line trim to the tops of the cabinets, added a kick board at the bases, trim to the bottom of the top cabinets. We also constructed some decorative features at the end panels of each base cabinet, giving it that contemporary farmhouse look that I love. Great putsy work for a cold, covid winter. I failed to post about my kitchen update progress. We did a lot of work this winter during a lengthy quarantine in our kitchen and adjacent bathroom. So glad thats over! 😅🤪 I'll be posting about our transformation in the coming days. Hello again! Its been a year since I last posted a piece of furniture. A whole year. I'm betting much like yours, this last year has been a doozy. For me this last year has been unintentionally dedicated to growth, acceptance and change. I could speak at length about all the crazy, all the patience required, or all the adult meltdowns. I could speak at length about how this last year has molded me into a new individual, someone a little more hardy than before. I could speak at length about the courage, risks & perseverance this last year required. I could speak at length, but for now I will just say that this last year has required an inner strength that I never knew existed. I have been reaffirmed yet again, that my inner strength is God. Big, Wise and Ever Present, God.
All that being said, I'm slowly dabbling in refinishing my stash of beauties that have been patiently waiting in storage. Stay tuned for more pieces in the coming month. Thanks for sticking with me! Feel free to share Crowned Ashes with anyone you think might enjoy it. Thank you!
