Don’t squash down your beautiful cross stitches!

Finishing top tip from Tiny Modernist Cross Stitch 🖼️

You’ve spent hours completing your beautiful cross stitch masterpiece, so don't crush your hard work at the very end!

When it's time to iron your finished piece, always lay it face down on a soft towel to avoid crushing the stitches.

Today is World Cross Stitch Day!

Working on the Tartan Thistles Coaster Cross Stitch Kit today.

As you can see, I have begun coloring in the Tartan background with the called for Long Stitch.

It’s fun! 🤩

The colour palette is meant to look delicate but you could easily swap in your own Clan Colours if you wanted to using your own floss.

As with all Textile Heritage Cross Stitch Kits, please follow the provided instructions!!

This applies particularly to the Tartan Thistles Coaster Cross Stitch Kit!

They have an Order of Working highlighted on the front page of the instructions that says to stitch the borders and the cross stitch “grid” which is exactly what I’ve done.

This sets up the fun bit of the project- lots of long stitch to fill in those grids that make up the tartan pattern.

The long stitch is done using 1 strand to give that delicate detail.

As it’s long stitch it should go quite quickly
