Good afternoon all! Some of you might have received and invitation from me to like a new page, www.facebook.com/infinityfabricationsllc which is a new endeavor and partnership. This also means that this page will soon be taken down. I ask you to like and follow our new page and to share it, and any future posts from the page, amongst your own friends if you feel appropriate. We're building a decent grass-roots business and with your help, it will continue to grow. We offer general and custom woodworking along with steel and metal work, often using reclaimed materials. We operate a CNC wood router capable of machining wood up to 4' x 8' in dimensions and the capacity to handle large and small orders.

Tree of life project is complete! Reclaimed red cedar, segmented and clear coated, float mounted on wall. Hand made wooden cardinals on branches. Buffet top is natural edge maple with 6 coats of clear ultra flat polyurethane.

A wonderful collaboration of ideas and materials, brought about as an idea from my wife, as a gift for a lifelong friend for his 50th birthday.

In 2011, I was out shooting photos in the early morning with my close friend, Mike. I snapped a silhouette of him against the sunrise as he was capturing another image. It wasn't a spectacular photo but the image left an impression on me, with Mike, and with my wife, Michelle.

As Mike's birthday grew closer, both Michelle and I had no idea what to get him. Michelle had mentioned another local craftsman who worked in plasma cutting art. She brought up the silhouette image and how awesome it would look cut out of metal. I took her idea and we bounced around a couple design ideas for a gift. I drew up the design incorporating the silhouette of Mike, some cat tails, and a pair of great blue herons. I then sent the image to Ernie at BigBear Woodworking & Plasma Art who expeditiously fabricated the steel silhouette. When it was complete, I found a fantastic piece of live edge spaulted maple and created a shelf that would be suspended from the metal silhouette. The shelf was finished with satin polyurethane and the silhouette was finished with oil rubbed bronze hammertone paint.

Michelle and I gave the shelf to Mike this afternoon and he immediately recognized the image I had used. To say that he was stunned would be an understatement. If anything else, it's a great testament to the fine work at BigBear for being able to accurately replicate that old image from nine years ago.

Completed end tables. Live edge Claro Walnut with epoxy resin rivers and embedded stones. Legs are made from 3/4" and 1/2" soldered copper pipe. Lamps are black pipe with walnut bases and have Edison LED bulbs. Oliver, the shop dog, gives his approval.
