Becky Wanamaker has been an artist all of her life. From the time she could pick up a crayon, she was driven to draw, paint & design. Wanamaker is a graphic designer by training and started painting as a creative outlet in the fall of 2015. Wanamaker experimented with Alcohol Inks on paper which lead to painting with the inks on glass. By the end of 2015 she had sold a large number of upcycled gla
ss & metal vases & trays. She also started painting large glass Christmas ornaments. Before she knew it, Wanamaker had orders for her unique hand painted ornaments coming in faster than she could handle. In November, 2015, Wanamaker was invited to show her work at The Gallery @ 14 Days. Inspired by the other artists in the gallery, she decided to purse abstract painting. Her journey lead her to experimenting with fluid painting and painting with resin. Wanamaker coined the term "Fluid Abstraction". Her painting technique incorporates acrylic & oil paints, pigments, alcohol & india inks, resin and sometimes even fire. Wanamaker uses techniques learned from other artists as well as those she has developed through much trial and error along the way. She keeps a detailed journal for each painting she creates, notating the mediums used, what combination they were used in and the specific techniques so that she can continue to grow as an artist and improve her techniques. Wanamaker uses these techniques and mediums to create statement pieces on wood canvas, glass & furniture. Her affinity for color and experience as a graphic designer combined with her unique style of painting results in one-of-a-kind statement pieces. She is currently accepting commissions for large and small paintings for the upcoming holiday season. She will also be offering her hand painted ornaments again this year, so stay tuned!!
