Busy Friday! Getting ready for a summer break and family visit. Second Wind Studio will be closed beginning on Saturday July 13th and will reopen at noon on Tuesday July 23rd.

Great class today at Sunrise Senior Living in Bon Air! We made suncatchers and assorted dishes. Can't wait to see how beautiful they are when they come out of the kiln! Many thanks to Pam Overbey and the staff and residents who turned out for the class.

Second Wind Studio will be opening at 5 PM today so I can participate in the Art and Dementia program at the Greater Richmond Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association. "Studies show that art activities reduce anxiety, stress and depression while improving motor skills, attention and focus." Glad to be of assistance to this very helpful organization in our community!

We will be closed on Thursday May 30th and Friday May 31st to collect our daughter Sammy from her freshman year at SCAD in Savannah, GA. Sammy will be joining me in the studio this summer and helping out with summer classes. We will reopen on Saturday June 1st at 10AM.

Martini glasses are back with a new design! Each has 1 olive and a sleeker shape. The olives were made by my friend Susan at Second Wind Studio. $12 each.

Second Wind Studio will be closed on Friday March 15th and Saturday March 16th so I can attend an out of town class. Looking forward to learning some new techniques to enhance my glass work!

I've started making more platters and bowls from recycled tempered glass shelves. First you wrap up the big pieces of glass and then you crack them into tiny cubes that you can arrange on a mold to tack fuse into your finished piece. I think they come out looking like they were carved out of ice.

What a messy day! It's wet heavy snow here in Short Pump so I'm taking a snow day and staying at home. Good day to make a pot of soup and just watch the snow fall. Hope the power holds on. Lots of trees are bent over under the weight of the snow. Take care if you need to go out today!
