Did you know that motorized shades may help reduce the effects of Seasonal Affective Disorder? Hoda Jaludi, a certified Design Psychologist and founder of Karama New York, recently made the switch to motorized blackout shades by Somfy and is thrilled with the benefits.

Seasonal Affective Disorder, commonly known as Seasonal Depression, is a documented type of depression, according to the National Institute of Mental Health. Hoda shared in her blog that reduced sunlight and long periods of darkness disrupt circadian rhythms and block Vitamin D absorption.
