Thank you so much for taking some time to visit my page. I'm Robin Zapalac, and my most important (and favorite!) jobs are being a wife and mom. There's not much training you receive for those two jobs--you just have to figure it out by trial and error, explore, research, and most importantly, PRAY! We're also in the midst of our 5th year of homeschooling...entering this adventure after much praye
r and through the grace of God! When I'm not in the throws of schooling and doing all the wife and mom things, I enjoy refinishing furniture. I'd say it started back in college over 25 years ago, but really it's in my blood…between parents, grandparents, and other extended family, I have always been surrounded by painting, art, and a love of old things and finding creative ways to make them new again. Depending upon the piece and the story it tells, it may involve stripping something down to expose the beautiful natural wood grains, or redesigning the entire look of a piece to fit into a new space. Just as God washes us new and we are redeemed through him, I love doing my part to renew and redeem old worn out pieces...
Formal training in Occupational Therapy and Nutritional Therapy have definitely influenced my journey in life. I loved my job as an OT, being trained to look at the whole person--mind, body, and soul and was just as excited about my new adventure a number of years ago as a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner. It's amazing how everything we put into our body can either build us up and contribute to our overall wellness, or gradually break us down. If you look through the page history, you can see that's how this page all started. Even though I no longer choose to practice as an OT nor NTP, they are still very much a part of my daily life and a part of the lens in which I view life...with the overarching lens being the love of Christ. Just like so many of us, I've been guilty of living a fast-paced life, thinking I can do it all. Finding the right balance is definitely key. Someone very dear told me it’s not a one day thing that you accomplish and move on; it’s a journey. Some days you’re going to struggle and fall, some days you’ll do better. The key is to always rely on God, put your faith in Him, know that He’s always with you, and that He loves you unconditionally. Still, I occasionally get a wild-hair, thinking I can do it all. As much as I LOVE Wonder Woman, and as much as I wanted to be her growing up (geez, someone had to combat my older brother's He-Man dudes!), I am not her. I am a mother. I am a woman making my way through this glorious life doing the best that I can. The mission of 'Renewing and Redeeming' is to provide inspiration and spread God’s love…letting God’s word guide the way and relying on 1Corinthians 10:31, whatever you do, do everything for the Glory of God.
