Yes, Free Fossils!! but where do they come from?

Well… our free fossils come from the Fossil hunting community in and around Southwest Florida ! And we couldn’t do it without them !!

These new fossil donations buckets will soon be out there on Venice Area Dive Charters like Aristakat Charters By Captain Jamie Bostwick & DustyDiscoveries Fossil Charters (and more to come!)

We also have many other local hunters who regularly donate their extra fossils to help support our mission.

Our goal is to continue to drive excitement and education around the amazing fossils from the Venice Florida & Southwest Florida areas!

Giving free fossils to the thousands of children and enthusiastic adults who visit us each year is a fundamental part of driving our mission  !

Maybe lower juvenile megalodon, but leaning more towards Angustiden based on it coming out of Charleston. Community thoughts?

Massive Venice Golden Beach Megalodon

We are beyond honored to have had the privilege to add this spectacular 5.77” Venice Megalodon to our public display collection at the Venice Fossil Museum - A Public Nonprofit!

This tooth was found by local diver Captain Bronson Bartley in September 2023 & is now part of our Museum Collection where it will be admired by thousand of visitors a year ❤️

What started as a curio cabinet to honor local treasures has steadily grown into a Non- Profit with a Mission… while our heart will continue to be focused on collecting and displaying fossil treasures our mission is to spark excitement in a generation of explorers who will get outside and make the world’s next great local discoveries ❤️
