Tomorrow is the big day, which means I’m out of time to show off all of my previous work! So, I dug up this old video of our Cemetery Display from 2021 that has a whole bunch of “new to you” props! Though a few of the props have been retired, most of them still are out there to this day!

From full sized coffins / outhouses, simple skull poppers, the mausoleum setup, and the Pumpkin Arch, I have built all kinds of amazing Halloween projects! (That doesn’t also include the stuff I built for my old job, like a massive pirate ship haunted house!) I’ve enjoyed every project and it makes me sad that Halloween is almost over. But you know what the fellow haunters say: the season might be over, but it doesn’t mean we can’t start planning already for next year! 😂🤷🏻‍♂️

While I might be busy in the shop creating new projects, I cannot forget about spooky season, especially since Halloween is only 3 days away! So today’s spot light is my Mausoleum build with a crank ghost!

This prop has been the centerpiece of the display for many many years. The translucent ghost on the inside always grabbing kids attention. It was my first prop using a prop controller, and involved the most engineering at that time! (And the most setup!) The mausoleum has stood through many hardships (including being blown over in a storm) and is about due for a revamping.

But for this year, it stands tall once more and its ghost, restless.

Come along on one of the satisfying parts (second to oiling) of making a tabletop: the glue up!

I had a client reach out asking if I could make a replacement tabletop for a thinner piece of furniture they had. They decided on making it out of Cherry, and this is the progress so far! The ever enjoyable hammering and glue dripping process of putting the top together!

This is 1 of 3 projects currently underway in the shop! One other is practically finished, this one halfway, and the other one is just getting started! So be sure to check back to see what is underway in the shop!

Also, thanks to Will and Tom Faith Talks Wood for always keeping me entertained, especially with all the sanding I’ve been doing lately!

No wind + cooler air temperatures = perfect fog nights.

So naturally I couldn’t resist breaking out the fog machines to snap a few photos and videos of the graveyard. (Though I didn’t have any ice to chill the fog, so no low lying tonight!)

I got some great shots, and here is a little sneak peek of the overall display. Of course, this is before the graveyard “comes alive” on Halloween, so there is plenty of things yet to be added. So enjoy, and see how many skeletons you can spot as you explore our haunted display!

*Flash Warning!!*

After a long day of working the market this morning and doing other various things in the shop, it’s nice to sit back, turn on the all the Halloween lights, and enjoy the sounds of the changing portrait prop. Hard to believe that Halloween is only 1 week away!

Want to see how I made this prop?? I’ve got a couple videos walking through the photo, frame and electronics! Check them out on my pages!

Hey everyone! Ive been a little more on the quieter side this week, as Ive been battling a nasty illness (don't worry, sawdust was still flying, just in smaller quantities.) But I'm feeling quite a bit better, and just in time for the weekend!

Tomorrow is my last appearance at Sandusky's Farmer's market for the year! Stop over at Columbus Ave in Sandusky between 8am - 12pm to see all the great products that a wide diversity of vendors have to offer! From baked goods, to jewelry, and of course wood decor, there is plenty of options to choose from. Never too early to start Christmas shopping!

Just as a forewarning and a little insight to how the next month or so looks, tomorrow might be my last show until December. Orders and custom projects are stacking up, so I decided to make November on the light side market wise so I can focus on those projects. (Though I might do 1 in town, not sure yet.) So tomorrow might be your last chance to grab something in person for a little while! Of course, you can always message me here or check out my Etsy store! With that being said, I am part of a really "holly jolly" market in early December, and can't wait to announce that at a later date!

See you all hopefully tomorrow morning!

Since I had a lot of love for the monster in a box prop yesterday, let’s keep that energy going with one of my personal favorite props I’ve made: the haunted grandfather clock.

This one is no stranger to the spot light on this page. I built this animatronic back in 2022 before I knew anything about small electronics. This “clock” has two reindeer motors that run both the clock face and pendulum. With a Picoboo controller running the lights and sounds. It was a fun and complicated project to put together, and it is still very much enjoyed to this day!

I do plan to upgrade the electrical components to remove the relay clicking, time the pendulum to the actual ticks, and maybe even put a real clock in it! For now, it does its job just fine!

Here is a prop that was a previous bucket list build; the monster in a box!

This was a super fun build, utilizing led lights, a sound system, and motor functions. Combined together creates the spooky illusion that there is a monster locked inside the crate trying to get out! I was going to add fog functions to it, but ran out of time before the dead line. But nonetheless, the prop came out great and the folks who requested the prop were super happy!

I’ve got plenty more great Halloween props to share, so be sure to follow along as we count down the days till Halloween!
