MAISON by Alexandra

A little behind-the-scenes look at one of our historic Brookside projects here in Kansas City!

We’re incorporating beautiful blue built-ins, wallpaper, and traditional architectural details to create a space that feels collected, timeless, and true to the home’s original character.

I love working on older homes and finding ways to introduce color, pattern, and personality while preserving everything that makes them special.

Can’t wait to share how this one comes together!

Warm wood tones, natural woven textures, and a patterned rug bring depth, contrast, and just the right amount of color to this home. I love how each element complements the next.

There’s something so satisfying about a before and after.

Brighter finishes, thoughtful details, and added character brought new life to this space, with everyday functionality guiding each decision. I love seeing beauty and livability come together.

MAISON after hours.

We were delighted to host members of the Kansas City Ballet community at our Brookside studio for an evening of planning and connection in support of the arts.

I love looking back at the original renderings and seeing how the vision came to life. Every decision, from the layout to the finishes, played a part in bringing the space together.

Rendering to reality.

Before the finishes, we plan how you'll live—how rooms connect, where furniture fits, and how you move through your day. Good design starts here.

Everything has to match? More expensive is always better? Some design "rules" deserve a second look.

Swipe for four misconceptions—and what I consider instead.

A lamp can be beautiful on its own—but is it right for the room? I look at its scale, shape and finish, and how it compliments the pieces around it.

A new chapter for MAISON in Vero Beach.

Our new studio is taking shape, and I’m excited to share a first look at the vision. Construction is underway, and I’ll be sharing the plans, details, and progress as we bring it to life.

In the meantime, work on our Vero Beach projects continues, with client meetings by appointment. I can’t wait to welcome you into the finished space.
