Channeling my Dear Aunt Mary as I sift through her most prized treasures, her jewels!
If you recall, Aunt Mary was mesmerized with all the pretty things. This is just a VERY SMALL example of her love of jewels!
She used to tell us, "this will all be yours some day". I shared with her some of the fun things I would do with it when it was passed down to us. She approved and said "that sounds lovely".
I have been painstakingly removing the backs of earrings, pins, separating beads, sorting themes and colors of all shapes and sizes for some upcoming projects. I have quite literally gouged, sliced, pinched and poked my fingers during this process. 😵
I find myself talking to her about each piece as I explore and imagine her excitement when she chose each one! She truly found joy in their beauty and spent her life making them look good!
I pray they will be a tribute to her love of these precious gems and a blessing to the recipients. ❤
I have also decided to create some pieces that will be made available for sale. Profits exceeding my costs (materials, shipping etc) will be donated to our local animal shelters/adoption centers.
That, I know she would be elated with, as Aunt Mary absolutely loved every critter God created. I am happy to follow in her footsteps in that arena! 🐰🐹🐭🐷🐦🐝🐴🦋🐌🐞🐢🐠🦀🦃🐕🐇🦝🦨
I have so many ideas with too little time to bring them all to life but, I will do my best and invite you along for the ride, as always!
It seems like just yesterday that she parted from this earthly world, I miss her greatly.
